I would like to point out that in the same way that guns dont kill people, people kill people...

...cars dont tailgate, drivers tailgate.

A wker in an expensive car would still be a wker in a banger.

But in many cases the type of car you choose to drive will say something about your personality so there is likely to be types of car that are more favoured by a certain type of wker. Not to say all drivers of those cars are wkers, but they will be more likely to be wkers than occupants of other cars.

Pull the other one mate it's got bells on.

They pay the fking cleaners about £30,000 a year. They're not paid well because they're smart, they're paid well because whilst they're on a rig their wives are being spit roasted by the milkman.

That said I don't think they're a stupid bunch, but the assertion that salary is linked to intelligence is probably least true of the oil industry than any other I know of.

Certain type of wker? That's a bit unfair, we could start to lump bikers into it and we all know 95% of them drive like complete s but think they are driving gods.
Sunday Back up the M11 I have never seen so many tts on bikes, I had a group of them overtake and undertake me on the A11 roadworks where it is one lane, and a constant stream of traffic both ways. Then one of them hit my window as he didn't have enough room! No, because your mate is overtaking me on the other side you bell end!
But better than the fact they had been so close behind me I could only see the top of their bash hats in my ML.
Why sit that close on a bike?
I then watched them sit 3ft off the back of a truck for the next 3 miles.

I also reckon some of the best drivers out there are those in BMWs, Audis, Mercs etc.
They are the ones who tend to let people out of junctions, let you pull in front of them so you can overtake on the dual carrigeway and those that pull back in after overtaking.

The doddery tt in the Mazda or Toyota may not be more aggressive, but does seem to think it is fine to sit in the overtaking lane because there is another car half a mile up the road that is doing 2mph less than him, so no point pulling in when he would have to pull out again....in 15 minutes!

This

or this surely

or these in 50mph speed limits!

Nothing much bothered me on the motorway in the WRX to be honest but last time I was in France, a local Audi A3 driver seemed to take exception to me driving through his village and tailgated me very aggressively for about a mile before ripping past me and then pulling in a mile down the road so that he could do it all over again. My wife was quite scared but I just thought what a nob (wasn't on the motorway though)!

Reading this and looking at your list of cars owned you really aren't doing anything to disprove the stereotypes.

Ok. For me, it doesn't happen THAT often thankfully - but down where I am near the South Coast, I might suggest that it's often the usually refreshing cliches of drivers - mainly WVM, and rep BMW's and Audis. Occasionally, a stressed-Mum type married into 'new money' driving a tank-style 'Mum-truck' like an Audi Q7. But very rare, thankfully.

But here's the thing. WVM and rep German cars are driven, despite aggressively, many miles and hours per day I would say. Hence, GENERALLY, despite the tailgating, the drivers ( and I am not defending them, merely suggesting ) are probably pretty switched-on, road wise, with many hours of experience. I reckon that, despite the tailgating, if something untoward did occur, they'd probably react reasonably quickly.

The ones that REALLY terrify me, when tailgating me, are a relatively new-ish breed of fkwits.

It is the 'late-teenage' girl (18, 19, 20 etc.) , in some faceless, recent, vanilla eurobox (think Vauxhall Corsa, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai, Kia, etc. etc.....new-ish, 5-door hatch, 1.2 or 1.4 engine, bought on a PCP type deal.)

They have next to FA experience and road-sense. They have about a million and one 'cute' things hanging and dangling around inside the car. They often have one or more similar passengers with them.

But for some reason, they drive like they are immortal, whilst paying about 10% of the attention they should be to the road, and sit so close behind you at 70mph, you can't even see the headlights of their car.

Whilst doing this, I observe clearly in my rear-view mirror, almost constant distractions. They are talking / laughing / pissing about. They are constantly looking at their mates, even the ones in the rear seats.

They are clearly fiddling with the stereo / iPod. And worse, they are clearly looking down to their phones in their laps, and texting, or whatever.

Basically anything other than concentrating on driving the flipping car!!!

I just pull over as soon as I can and let these air-head fkwits go by as soon as possible. If I had to brake hard for something, they would be smashed hard into the back of my car before they'd even realised what had happened.

We really do need some compulsory motorway training for new young drivers, illustrating the dangers of not leaving a big enough gap...

Explain more.

I expect you're a biker who has taken offence and is defending every biker on the road, or not???

To be fair to WVM, I think there is something about the vehicle that makes you drive like a w*****! I'm normally quite a polite, considerate driver but I hired one of these for 24 hours last year and I was bouncing it off the rev limiter, tailgating slower cars and when the roads got narrow, not giving way to oncoming traffic. To be fair, it was very noisy, basic and uncomfortable and I couldn't wait to get the job I needed it for done so that I could get back to the depot and pick up my own car. To be fair, it was a white Ford Transit (although a brand new one) but one of the worst new vehicles that I have driven for a while. Would a VW Transporter have been nicer to drive and would I have driven it better? Maybe, maybe not!

I think you misunderstood my point. We all have different opinions of what constitutes a wker. All I was saying was that you can stereotype car drivers to some extent as your choice of car may quite often say something about your personality. Obviously not always...we're still talking about a normal distribution of behaviours, just that it may be shifted one way or the other.

Case in point...you can stereotype sports bike riders as being on average more likely to ride fast and aggressively, simply because those vehicles are suited to it. Doesn't mean ever sportsbike rider is like that; I tend to ride sedately on mine as I get my kicks on trackdays.

Likewise I think it's fair to say there is likely to be a certain type of person behind the wheel of an X6 on 50" wheels.
