Obscure supercars of the 80's and 90's
Discussion
One AM concept and one production.
I remember being gob-smacked by this gull-winged vision of the future, whilst visiting the NEC Motor Show as a kid about 35 years ago. From memory is was presented on an angle so you could see inside better, but the 10 deep scrum around the stand still made it difficult! The William Towns styling really hasn't aged well, has it?

V8 Vantage Zagato

I think Dauer also produced some EB110 spin-offs. And of course these:
And then there was the Koenig version:
The Derek Bell Signature car:And then there was the Koenig version:
And the DP Motorsport version:
And finally, more interestingly, the Schuppan 962CR:
I know they made six of these including the prototype that's been for sale the past few years. The bottom car has a traditional 962 front and side panels on it. Most are in or have been in Japan.
This thread has prompted me to dig out my definitive reference when it comes to topics such as this, "Dream Cars" by Richard Nichols. A tome that had adorned my book shelf since I was an 8 year old nipper.
A quick glance and just 11 pages in gives the Aston Martin Bulldog
A mere 170 pages further on brought me this, the Wolfrace Sonic...

I think the Derek Bell one was for sale through a well-known Porsche specialist a while back

when i was a kid i remember an advert for something where they had some sort of sports car where the steering wheel and part of the dash would flip over so it could be either left or right hand drive
can't remember what the advert was for and have no idea if it was a real car
It wasn't a real car, I guess it might have been a concept of some kind that whoever the advert was for just used. It was an advert for something mundane like insurance or tea or something, I think. The concept was something to do with "in the future, things will be very different and stereotypes we have now will seem silly". The advert came in showing this sexy sleek, high-tech car while someone with a heavy Russian accent intoned about "the finest car in the World, made in Russia" or something like that. This was when Ladas were still available in the UK and widely regarded a joke car, hence the 'humour'. I remember thinking it was pretty cool, too.can't remember what the advert was for and have no idea if it was a real car
A chap called Brian Thompson bought one of the two and converted it into a real car (and wrote a book about it - "How to build your own Supercar").
It's still around, I saw it at the Stoneleigh Kit car show I think this year (although may have been last year).
Oh and the advert - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7S-sOvGHPU

Could we consider the homologation production models of the Group B rally cars?
RS200?
Lancia Delta S4 Stradale?
Go for it. Same for 90's homologation cars.RS200?
Lancia Delta S4 Stradale?
Three more from Monaco (who knew such a small place would produce such interesting cars)
The MCA GTB / Centenaire, Countach engined, supposedly only street legal in the principality. Spotted at Monza a few years back when MCA revealed a new car.
Mega (more famous for making horrible little electric stboxes under the name Aixam) created both the Monte Carlo
And more interestingly, the Mega Track
Another with a MB V8 (i think), over 400bhp, supercar performance....but 4x4 ride height and capabilities...as seen here with the aforementioned electric stbox
