Can stone dust damage car paint in this situation?
Discussion
I was leaving the supermarket and there was a road works lorry working on the roads while I was doing about 10mph or less and probably the lorry was 5mph, I noticed the chimney of his lorry was blowing out dust and I could hear little stone/dust noises from inside car which lasted about 5 seconds before he turned. I would describe it as a windy day while little stones flying around the place or maybe on the motorway.I am worried of damaging the car paintwork

Ok, yes.
Stones bouncing off the paintwork can cause stone chips.
Stones bouncing off the windscreen can cause chips/cracks in the glass.
Stones bouncing off the headlights/other areas on the front of the car can cause damage.
Stones bouncing off sides/rear of the car that are thrown up by the tyres can cause damage.
Basically any solid object that comes into contact with your car can cause damage
Sometimes squishy ones like birds, badgers, people, whatever can cause damage as well
