I'm very sorry I made my reply look like an advert, that was unintenional. I'm just trying to get in touch with fellow car nuts, especially people racing cool classic cars.

Great write up Chris, I was watching the guys trying to repair the Falcon from the roof of the pit, glad to see you go out again and finish. It was a shame though that so many cars got seriously bent, the rain was epic though so I suppose it got the better of some. I cannot wait to go again next year, it has got to be the perfect wind down after the Revival.

Man in jacket "Sir it seems to be a fuel leak at the back of the car"

Man on the far left "Well I could have sworn it was plugs, have the chaps put another strip of duct tape over the rear window to stop the glare of the lights tonite"

Very well-written piece. I *have* to drive this track, having visited it for the F1 this year.

I'll post the damaged Cobra, the completely smashed Elan and the sorry BSS MGB this evening.

Best read in ages, quite a few people around the office were looking at me in a weird way as I chuckled to myself

I love the Spa 6 hour weekend. Couldn't make it this year to support the Barley Falcon which I believe was the fist Falcon to finish. Well done Tom and Simon.

I'm racing there myself in the droopsnoot for the first time next week with the CTCRC. Any non club members want to race? There is room for you!

With 15 minutes to run the rain was so heavy intense that the track began to flood again, and the race was red-flagged.
Surely this means you still haven't finished the full 6 hours yet....boxedin

Still, gives you a ready made excuse to go again next year... smile

I wish! My car was originally raced by Peter Halford who some of you may be aware of. I raced against him in his seriously quick Corvette in the CSCC swinging sixties at Snetterton earlier this year...in my mini! When I say race I mean I was on the same track as him smile

It's fantastic to see these old cars and old blokes still going for it - well done! I was also at Silverstone GP on the Monday the 8th Sept and I do remember seeing the Falcon in the paddock and on track. At one point the car was on track behind me in my dark blue metallic Ultima GTR and I recall thinking to myself, blimey that old beast is being pushed pretty hard, but very impressive and great to actually see it in action. It sounded great too!

These 289 do offer an awfull mean soundbyte. They look gigantic but actually they are dwarfed by todays euroboxes. About 1200 kgs max, so they go pretty well with 400 + brake.

Notchback Mustang shares about the same dimensions. Check the topic 'Laptimes at Spa' to find todays cars struggle top top the Yanks 3:05!
