Help please. We are stuck at the Nurburgring with possible head gasket problem.

Anyone in the vicinity that has some good advice or maybe some spare seating space that would be willing to get 2 or 3 people back to the UK for petrol money.

Thanks in advance any help gratefully received.

Where are you based in the UK?

Go and see Martin at the Burgstube (next to the castle) tomorrow, depending on where you are based in the UK, he can help you get cheap flights back.

He can help with a garage/mechanics to possibly fix it, or he can put you in touch with Alex at Lizard Logistics who could bring your car back to the UK if you want it back.

If not, what spec is it, and is it cheap?whistle

What was your plan on the way there? Just risk it?

Just stay in a hotel and get the car sorted over there.

A uk pher with an e36 m3 does a nurburgring recovery service.

Sounds expensive!

Check out Ryanair as they fly from Frankfurt Hahn. Don't be confused by the name as the airport is a lot closer to the 'ring than to Frankfurt!

Two Ryanair flights into London Stansted today - both cost £129 each.

17:40 and 21:50.

No probs, Alex brings a lot of cars back!

As I asked before, where in the UK are you heading for?

There are loads of flights!

Easyjet and German Wings both do Cologne-London and Cologne-Manchester from £70 - £110
Ryanair do Dusseldorf Wheeze- Stanstead from £20ish
Jet2 do Dusseldorf to Leeds Bradford
German Wings Dusseldorf - Newcastle

I've had to use all of the routes at one point or another!

Thanks for the suggestions, in the end we got a taxi from Meuspath to Calais->Ferry to Dover and taxi back to Birmingham. For the three of us this was the quickest way and only slightly more expensive than taxis and flying (with stupid stop-overs in Denmark or similar!)

Alex @ Lizard Logistics is sorting the car back to Blighty.

Great help from the young lady at the Rennhotel who happened to be a neighbour of Martin at Burgstube. Thanks again sim16v for that suggestion. Martin was very helpful with the options for getting back, especially when we were very tired and exhausted (I owe you a few beers Martin!)

Now I've just got to get the car fixed for next year!

Big thanks to Alex @ Lizard Logistics. My car arrived back safely in the UK and delivered to Doritech for diagnostics.

Looks like the engine has water damage, rebuild or replace. Time for some upgrades I think!
