If he is still in IOT then the boys from Henlow will take a dim view no doubt.

Well obviously I'm not happy, but it doesn't look like performance testing or a road rally to me: simply driving too fast and without due care and attention, which is surely the cause of a lot of crashes. Not excusing them in any way, just puzzled as to why people think their insurers could refuse to pay..

Would your insurance cover you for track days? Nope. So why should your insurance cover you for an event that involves you doing any other form of "racing"? (I hesitate to call it racing, but it sure isn't normal driving).
Doesn't look like they were racing to me, just looks like they drove like idiots and made a mistake whilst doing so.

With regards to removing the number plate they weren't fast enough, and HG13ADU is quite well splattered around on various FB vids this morning.

I was there, the Jag was cordoned off with police standing around it. Coupled with the video evidence I can't see any other logical outcome than him being charged with dangerous driving. Bearing in mind he didn't only lose control of his vehicle by driving stupidly on a public road, he did it whilst the streets were lined with people.

For the last time, I'm NOT saying that the insurance SHOULD cover them, I'm saying that it PROBABLY WILL, i.e. I can't think of any credible reason they could use to not pay out. No idea why people seem to think I'm excusing these people, maybe try reading my posts again?

I've seen footage where the C63 can't have been wearing a front plate upon impact. The camera turns so quickly after impact there wouldn't have been time to remove it.

And BTW I just love the way the tone towards the Jag driver changed once we found out he is RAF, yet the comments about "the brothers" and "Eid" continue to come thick and fast around the wonderful www

That's what gets me - standing on the edge of the kerb with your iProduct desperately trying to get the first video on Facebook could quite easily end in tears.

Oh dear.

That's interesting - I'll see if I can get the link from FB and put it on here for any correlation.

HG13ADU is a 6.2 Merc so at least that's genuine.
