I'm happy this will be sold in the UK. Looking forward to finding out more about the faster versions.

This is the first American car that I would want to own and drive.

This car has so much going for it. Have to admit the red ones have not looked so good as the last gen in the press pictures. But that gunmetal looks absolutely amazing. Sub £35k ere is little to compete against it unless you want a Cayman Popular.

I rekon that will sell very well. Imagine if the finance figures work out 'reasonably'.

I think Ford UK will restrict volumes of this V8, and even the EcoBoost version. Finance figures will probably be biased towards profitable balloon products rather than any discount incentive. Unfortunately.

Even as a cash buyer you're unlikely to get any discounts. These are going to fly out of showrooms, in the early days.

Hopefully Ford will do the usual trick of slashing thousands of the list price and offering 0% finance. Whatever they do, this is a serious next car contender for me, other options are 2nd hand buys of either E60 M5, C6 Corvette or E92 M3.

Cheap as chips - I think most will be bought with cash anyway .....

So they finally fixed the suspension and steering, good... If only they could fix the weight problem before V8s are completely impractical and manual gearboxes simply don't sell anymore. Then, only then, could I think of the Mustang as a european kind of sports car.

If it is 35 grand then that seems like a bit of a bargain, the 300 odd bhp hatches wont seem like such good value when you can have 435 bhp for around the same money by the time you have a DSG gearbox and some other bits and pieces.

Looks fantastic in that grey.

It is mind boggling to think, Ford only dropped the live axle, an oxymoron, for the 2014 car.
Looks great in this colour though.
Its funny that "Gone in 60 seconds" was shown last night, a few light grey panels and there you have it, Elanor, surely the most tasteful Muzzy (except the Bullet green version)...

I bet they'll be as rare as hen's teeth on British roads and that 99%+ of those saying "Oh good, a proper V8 Mustang", won't be buying one biggrin.

I'd like a test drive though - Maybe I'll see if I can get an upgrade when I'm in the US in November smile

I'm another one seriously interested in this Mustang. Is this new one going to be any smaller that the last one? They always look pretty large when I see them on the road. Is it larger than a 3-series?

God i hope Shelby do a version of it for the RHD version. The 2013 GT500 was indescribably brilliant.

Why, PH, why? Why must you write positive things? I was hoping you'd write it off as typical yank-tank so I could park my aspirations firmly in the bin and end my wallet's sleepness nights, but no, you tell me otherwise and now I desire one even more. I will be banging the door down at a Ford dealer for a test drive as soon as I can. Genuinely very interested in owning one of these - V8, RWD, manual, rare, head-turning, limited depreciation (hopefully), plenty of space, up to date media (a big weak point of my current V8 barge). That grey looks superb too IMO. I sincerely hope it won't be limited to large or extra large alloy wheels in the UK - 17 or 18 will be just fine, thanks.

Speaking of which, what size were the wheels on the test car?

I wonder what the live axle defenders will have to say?

If that price quote is genuine this will be one impressive all-rounder.. A big NA V8 and 6 speed manual all wrapped up in relatively simple rear drive coupe form for £35k, now that's something you don't see nowadays! Definitely a modern day Monaro as others have stated, I hope it depreciates like the Monaro too wink

Am I the only person who thinks that 'Eleanor' is a tacky car? It worked well in the film as the restomod car it was meant to be but the bonnet pins and round blue-tint fogs look like Halfords bolt-ons compared to the standard car (colour and wheels look a nice combo though).

The Bullitt on the other hand is lurvely.

For years all the die hard fans said IRS was a waste of time on a Mustang, just saying....I told you so.

Strangely enough I now find the recent crop of American cars more appealing than the European counterparts . The new vette, the hellcat , Camaro z28 etc all cracking bits of kit .
Finding the new Porsche , Ferrari , amg etc offerings a bit samey ( !!! ) , I can't believe I've just written that .
