I'll say it again, as long as Ford don't take the piss with the pricing I'll consider this as my next car.

Yes, doesn't sound bad, here is a similar video with the V8, though it sounds different, I cant tell a whole lot via a Youtube video, I dont think I could say the V8 sounds that different without hearing them in person.

You're not alone - while European sports cars have embraced electric power steering and twin-clutch automatics en masse, the Americans have stayed more faithful to the original sports car philosophy. Some of the power figures are getting a bit absurd (i.e. where's it going to end?), though it's rather nice to think that your dealer can sell you a car with over 700hp. With a warranty. I never thought I'd find myself wanting a Mustang or a Corvette, but here we are. The times they are a-changin'.

Yes sir'eee! When growing up in Canada I always drooled over the Euro offerings (3 series, Corrado, etc), but now that the Eurocrew has all but forgotten the manual gearbox I am also strangely finding myself looking over the pond in the other direction. I#ve been looking for a 2+2 coupe (to be able to take the kids) with a good soundtrack, decent performance and price as a fun second car. An automatic gearbox is fine for me in a luxo-barge or a minivan or a small city car (actually a manual gearbox has no place anymore in such cars), but in a sporty vehicle the manual box still belongs at least in the option box.
Is it not ironic, that most minivans/vans, city cars in Europe are offered with a standard manual box whilst most new sporty vehicles have completely abandoned it (not even as optional).

I am eagerly awaiting the Cobra! The new design is spot on, and this dark grey looks the biz! Bravo Ford!

Some good reviews on Youtube that give a good feel, the interior even looks pretty good, the "infotainment" looks very nicely integrated, doesn't look vastly different to the comparably priced Germans.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the 2.3 sounds like a crock of st outside, the interior noise is all fake and played through the speakers to sound a little more V8ish

Doesn't surprise me, from the videos it sounds pretty similar to the V8, obviously I will not be buying either just yet, but for now the one I will not be buying will mainly be the V8.

Still need to remember its a 310 bhp coupe that doesn't 0-60 in five and bit seconds, plus, we have tolerated stuff like Sierra Cosworths, Lancia Integrales, BMW E30 M3's despite their parental rutting engine notes.

We need an English view on the new models, is their one in the UK and can someone point the Skid Monkey at it ?

Just watched those videos...I honestly think my Mini sounds better than the Ecoboost but would have to hear it in reality to be sure!

The 2.3 has a "sound symposer tube" as per the V8 to allow more of the inlet noise into the cabin. Nothing artificial is going on using the cars Speakers. I should know, I designed the tube!

It's a stunning car in the metal.

Although I'd still opt for a LHD import.
Nothing to do with you selling LHD imports of course!

Its funny that "Gone in 60 seconds" was shown last night, a few light grey panels and there you have it, Elanor, surely the most tasteful Muzzy (except the Bullet green version)...
Am I the only person who thinks that 'Eleanor' is a tacky car? It worked well in the film as the restomod car it was meant to be but the bonnet pins and round blue-tint fogs look like Halfords bolt-ons compared to the standard car (colour and wheels look a nice combo though).

The Bullitt on the other hand is lurvely.

No. I've been saying similar for ages.

Also. The whole storyline falls down because of it. 50 cars in 4 days ( I think)? If I was the bloke who ordered a Shelby gt500 and got that body kitted base model I'd be deeply unimpressed. It's not what I'd asked for.

Well shame on you then! That sound tube is the sttiest idea Ford have come up with in a long time and looks like something a half-assed plumber would attach to a waste disposal. It was the first thing I removed from my 5.0.

The Chief Engineer on the Mustang project has said "With the Ecoboost engine we have both active noise cancellation, and we also amplify the existing engine sound order. We don't create an artificial sound, we don't pluck one off the shelf, we bring in the real sound, process it, and play it through the car's speakers."

http://jalopnik.com/the-2015-ford-mustang-ecoboost...

What constitutes a processed but not artificial sound is unclear. Either way I personally wouldn't be comfortable knowing that my engine noise was coming from my speakers.

Sound symposer tubes have been around a while now and are pretty common for pumping engine sounds into the cabin. It's not artificial like the BMW ones through the speakers. Can't honestly understand the need to remove it as there's no performance advantage and it sounds worse without it.

Forgive me - I beg to differ. I see absolutely no merit in piping intake roar through the bulkhead into the passenger compartment.

I can see the appeal, but 35k buys a pretty good second hand V8 M3. Can it really compete with an M3?
