Why are people focusing on "looks better"? Is it some excuse to say I told you so? Do they not realise that the driver behind the wheel with a visage like a robbers horse is not doing the "looks" department any favours despite the belief of the driver that they are gods gift?
¿Que?

the chocolate Digestive upgrade instead this morning.
Might not work quite so well if the sun comes out.
Ah see I'm one step ahead there - the chocolate side is face down, and will be kept cool by the windscreen blowers.

Obviously I won't leave it in there while the vehicle is unattended, as well as being at risk of melting it's also just an invitation for a hungry theif to break in.

I went the Only Fools and Horses route, just waiting on a local busy body who has no clue on the new rules to "shop" me.

Some people have been proclaiming the looks of the automobile they own are somewhat enhanced by the lack of a revenue ticket in the windscreen. At least the way I am reading some posts.

Going to work today and didn't notice a single car/truck (out of 100-odd) which had removed the tax disc. tongue out

(yeah I know I should be focusing on the road/they might not had time/bothered to remove it etc. etc.)
I did the same, only saw one car without a tax disc - a Ford Galaxy but they still had the empty holder on the screen.

Presume with the odds of 1 in 12 expiring yesterday, people have just left their 09/14 discs on the screen.

Shame they are gone. Its a quick glance from the public to see an abandoned car. It was also nice to see where cars had roughly come from.

Maybe someone should start a photoshop company that creates a tax disc for any specific month/year so we can carry on the tradition.

I saw only one other car on my commute without a tax disc.

Mine appears to have expired!

The previous ownwer had the car for three years and just put a new tax disc in front of the existing one every 6 months....

Matters not when it expores, you can still take it off. Or did I misread your comment?

I don't remember being consulted on this frown

How do I inform peasants that I pay £485 a year to use the road and therefore have more right to it than they do?

I remember once putting my tax disc on the drivers side. Moved it back when a very friendly guard at work informed me that it would be an MOT failure. I also happened to be working at a fairly secure military establishment and the guard in question happened to be armed with live ammunition at the time.

Man with a gun suggests you move your tax disc, you don't argue.

I'll take mine off when I collect the car from the garage later ....

On the radio news they said that today "there has been unprecedented demand on the DVLA servers to renew tax and they are having trouble"

Why? I can't understand why anymore people would need tax today as compared to another day/month... or are there a large number of deeply stupid people trying to get tax because they think the remaining tax on their disc is no longer valid? :-)

I have yet to remove my discs, I am slightly concerned the local Police here and ANPR operators are sufficiently stupid to not know about the changes either... Getting a wrongly issued fine removed is probably a massive hassle.

I've gone for the retro look now it's legal to display it! Sadly not the original one, the paperworks not that complete.
