I wonder if, one day, one of the big internet companies will decide there's money to be made by sending a fleet of cars with cameras on the roof across almost every road in the UK and other companies, then make the images available in a kind of searchable View of Streets?

Then we could all look at the stretch of road in question and spot in a second that there's no streetlights and no repeater signs.

.

Can't see that ever happening! You'll be telling us next that cars will have a TV screen with a robot in it acting as navigator!

But in many cases these 'streetview' images are out of date, as speed limits are constantly reviewed and lowered by council staff or other government officials that have nothing better to do.

i must also mention i have looked at Google maps street view, it cant be trusted as the images are from 2009, in the images it shows the road as a NSL.

Update
The limit has been lowered to 50mph as of yesterday, 6th of October. Black bags finally removed from new signs.

Have they just lowered that section or alot more of the A18? As I know Grimbo council wanted to lower the whole lot to 50mph on the A18, including all the dual carriageways.

I don't mind them lowering the limits to approaching roundabouts, since it makes tbh but what grinds my gears is lowering the entire road limit before their approach to tackling the accidents is slow it all down, rather than actually look at the road issues and fix them.

A fair bit seemed to be lowered at least up to the airport, which was as far as I was going the other day.
