Huh, I was pretty underwhelmed by the Camaro sound, the Vette was better and even that was a bit dull. I prefer a harsher, higher revving note I guess.
Me too, not even in the ball park of "spine tingling" Never have got the big V8 burble to be honest. Now a flat-plane-angry-bh-V8, now we are talking!I find V8's sound nice burbling at low revs, but its not really for me at high revs unless it has a banshee-wail overlaid.
Saying that, both those cars are cool as fk .
That C7 Z06 marks the first time in my life that I actually want a new Corvette. Very menacing and with proper performance to back it up. You're not going to get close to this level of performance in a new car without spending at least twice as much. I suppose The GT-R would be a valid comparison, performance-wise, but it's a very different car and getting a bit long-in-the-tooth, not to mention still much more expensive.
That Camaro (which has the old 'Vette Zo6's naturally-aspirated 7 litre LS7) has wowed all the magazines over here, being compared favorably to the 911 GT3. It's only a couple tenths slower than the GT3 around a given circuit, but it costs half the price! Not bad for a (still, despite going on a diet) heavy, American muscle car!

ED is a petrol company in Germany, so I imagine there must be an ED petrol station in the vicinity of the "Ring" where all sorts of vehicles pop in to quench their thirst before going or returning to the track.

I think AMG make better Muscle cars than the Yanks...
(C63 over either one of these)
Just hope the GT 'Stang really does come in at £35k and all is forgiven.

"Better" in what way? Your preference, perhaps, but there is no measurable in which the AMG can match these two. Certainly not ring times. Not acceleration, deceleration or cornering. Not top speed. So what then?
Turns out the Z06 is pretty quick off the line: http://www.autoblog.com/2014/10/01/2015-chevy-corv...

The website TorqueNews witnessed a presentation at Chrysler Headquarters in Auburn Hills that detailed the Charger Hellcat's performance. According to them, the 707 horsepower supercharged sedan will hit zero to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and run the quarter in 10.7 seconds on street legal drag radials.
http://jalopnik.com/dodge-charger-hellcat-also-stu...On "street" tires the Charger is going to be slower.

That costs money in the form of serious aftermarket tuning mods like wild cams and multiple throttle set ups and needs straight through exhausts.None of which would pass the eco tests even if they made it.www.youtube.com/watch?v=2R-XQKu18Tc
