FFS - does everyone always have to spend ages on hold on expensive numbers in order to get anything done these days?

Bought a new car, but need to keep cover on the old one.

I can do it online, but the online system doesn't let me apply my NCD to the new car (and take it off the old one) - which means it wants a huge upfront payment for the new car.

No probs, I think, I'll just ring up. Fat chance - after spending an age being interrogated by a disembodied voice, they offer me a choice of music on hold (at my considerable expense) before they can be bothered to talk to me.

I am seriously considering cancelling the whole thing and trying to find a broker who will actually answer the phone. I wouldn't mind doing it online - but it won't let me make logical changes.

Use the saynoto0870 site and get a number you can call free from your mobile.

Vote with your feet. Plenty of good brokers out there who answer the phone keen for your business.

Thanks Dog Star - I found an 0800 number that worked, and the hold was then at their expense - amazingly I got through really quickly, too :-)

Adrian Flux have always been good at picking the phone up. I bought a car and phoned them from the guys driveway and was insured within a few minutes!
