Thanks to the bikers who responded. I didn't mean to tar you all with the same brush! But this morning I had this tt behind me with full beam on for 7 bloody miles!
There is clearly something wrong with him if he followed the same car for '7 bloody miles'. He's needs to hand in his licence and get in a car pronto.Double post. Don't know how I managed that...

Just a thought... You're not driving around with your rear foglights on are you??Not noticed this, however I have noticed many motorcyclists cutting a line straight across the middle of both lanes on roundabouts without a care in the world when I'm pushing on around the right side lane. Its as though they believe nothing can possibly be going faster than me around this roundabout so I'll just pick my line and go for it.

I took my bike for a service at a Honda dealership and they gave me a courtesy bike to use overnight. CBF 600 if I remember correctly. Riding home that night, with my lights dipped, it became clear that they were angled wrongly (and soft rear suspension brought the nose up). So some poor bloke had me sat behind him for miles thinking that I was intentionally trying to blind him on my main beams when in fact I was doing nothing of the sort. He finally clued up when in frustration I did put my main beam on and almost burned his retina out. It was embarrassing because I could tell he was furious but there was absolutely sod all I could do about it.alangla said:
Is headlamp alignment part of the MoT on a bike? Asking cos I've had my bike for less than a year & it got MoT'd before I got it.
You are allowed to (and should) check it yourself, though. Use a wall/ garage door. It's not difficult. The simplest sanity check is to see whether you are illuminating the inside of cars ahead of you with your dipped beam.
The MOT is just a once a year spot check.

I spend two hours a day on two wheels, and I don't think I've ever seen another biker with full means on?
I guess the OP saw one biker doing it, and because he was jealous that they were clearly having more fun than him - decided to make a special post about it?
Now then - let me count the number of drivers using inappropriate lighting...this may take some time!!

Try the Helmsley TT killer road, lots of main-beamers along there!I guess the OP saw one biker doing it, and because he was jealous that they were clearly having more fun than him - decided to make a special post about it?

I've followed cars for many more miles than that, if they're going in the direction I want to go in, at a speed I'm happy to ride at, why not ?
