Hearse - first jouney same as the last!!

Wasn't it kind of traditional to be taken home in a Rolls Royce - try & see if anyone's got a non-white one you could hire for a couple of hours, not sure if baby sick is easier to clean than confetti.

I cannot believe how stupid some of those suggestions are!

You're such a wally, Ad. Typical OTT suggestion.

OP,

What you need is one of these...Any more than 3 seats is overkill.

Whichever you don't mind having someone open their car door on in the hospital car park.

To be fair, his clutch control was average at best and his awareness of other traffic appalling.

What's wrong with the Seat Altea quoted in your profile as a family wagon?
I refer you to point 4 of my original post!

I wish mine looked a bit more like that. Not sure Mrs JD PH would be all that keen on (what she'd undoubtedly describe as) "the big metal bit poking out of the bonnet". What does she know though huh?!

I drove my first son and his mother home in a Lotus Excel. You gotta start 'em young.

My daughter came home in my B7 Seat Exeo, kind of like a RS4 (not really) apart from the ride is much better and it's much quieter - to be honest I was gripping the wheel and scanning other drivers or "psychotic s" as they became all the way home - at no point did I feel the need to do 155mph+ or pull 2G around a roundabout.

If you really love your other half, get something with soft suspension and drive very slowly over speedbumps.

Or pick her up in a track car and fly over the buggers whilst trying not to laugh your head off.

We took our son home from hospital in a bug eye Impreza WRX wagon.

My wife's requirements for a new car when she fell pregnant were:

1: Smallish estate
2: 4WD
3: Quick
4: ISOFix

The Subaru ticked all of those boxes, so we bought it. She then traded it 18 months later for an Audi S4 Avant, which still fulfilled her criteria.

My father in-law lent me his Jag XJR to pick my wife and newborn daughter up from the hospital, which was great until this happened...
