Why is Lambo making the new Espirit??

Bit let down by this - was expecting flamboyance set to 11 by Lambo ....this looks a bit 'safe'.
It's interesting as I was disappointed with the Gallardo in particular for missing 'old school' Lamborghini madness and I thought even the Murcielago had played safe, so I should hate this.

However, I think it looks awesome and I think it will appeal to a whole new market, taking a bite out of Ferrari and co. from a different angle..
We are a fickle bunch biggrin

First thing it does is remind me of the Miura concept from afew years ago:

With a flat nose and aventador rear end. Absolutely stunning thing.

I really like it, it would appear that a small electrical powertrain is the future of N/A supercars. I was wondering where Lamborghini could go from the 700hp the 6.5 litre Aventador puts out, surely naturally aspirated engines are just about optimized now.

I read the 910 figure and wondered how they managed that, it seems like a perfect solution to continue to increase power outputs. Hopefully the technology will develop to become more efficient, cheaper and ligher.

Is anyone thinking a certain recently released Jaguar from the rear quarter? This is a very good thing, although overall not quite as distinctive Lambo as the last few models. I do think Lamborghini produce some of the most commanding cars for road presence, and the Aventador will never be matched in this respect.

I like it although I'm not a fan of this fanzy electric stuff. Has a bit of 70's Lambo in it looking from the rear. In fact I like a thousand times more than this generic Huracan.

Nice looks, rubbish name. Design is a bit 'safe' for Lamborghini standards.

how can a 900bhp ADW car fail to reach 200 mph and accelerate to 60mph over 3 seconds , that would make the entry level huracan faster than this hyper car.

That front overhang's no good on something claiming to be "practical".

Lovely looking thing and a nice addition to balance out their range. Shades of classic GTs past and for me could be a modern De Tomaso all but for the badge.

I'll have mine in candy apple red with tan leather please!

(Edit to add that I've been beaten to the De Tomaso reference above!)

I'm second/thirding the "buy the De Tomaso name for the thing" idea - make it Maserati to Lambo's Ferrari ;0

Meh, not for me.

It looks like a 4C from some angles, Ford GT from others, but just not right IMO
I was thinking more along the lines of the Ferrari shooting brake thing with a smattering of Stratos.

Nice. It reminds me of the Miura, somehow.

I notice how Lamborghini underlines how FWD is for pottering around in tree-hugging mode and the full whack for performance. Quite right.

Just breathtaking. The first really beautiful Lamborghini in ages. Not that there's anything wrong with the insanely dramatic other models but a good reminder that Lamborghini's design history includes some of the most beautiful GTs in history. Personally, I'm in serious lust but luckily can't even begin to afford it if it hits production.

100% this ^^^ And I agree with the Miura comments too. It's beautiful.

WOW, I think it looks brilliant.

Although not what I was expecting a Lambo hypercar to look like, which is a good thing.

My commute is 30 miles....perfect. free commuting, cheap tax and then a tank of fuel for the weekend

Then again the fact that I still commute to a job where I slave away for the man means I will never come close I assume

From pointless and utterly bonkers last year, to practical in Lambo's world, with a trully beautiful car.

The only downside being that lambo takes another step towards being a badge with VW behind it. There is no way Lambo would have been allowed to develop this seperately, it is not logical or efficient and something had to happen to those unsold 918's.

No mucking around with a 6 month Marketing Campaign either, just turn up, stick an Italina Stallion in front and show it, great.
