Big chunky pedals, big long gear stick, big thin rimmed steering wheel. A joy.

Again, a good sized footrest to the left of the clutch pedal

A (secret?) compartment under the front centre armrest that has two compartments, perfectly sized for a wallet/satnav and an iPhone, not that I use it for that purpose but still nice to know biggrin

Pillarless doors, not particularly unique or especially advanced but I do love 'em!

Because if he said bmw 3 series he could mean any 3 series coupe, saloon or estate since 1976. E92 tells you that what era it is and that it's a coupe. I don't understand them all but it's not hard to find out.

I'd never just say on here I drive an E65. I'd say I drive a BMW E65 7 series or just E65 7 series (as most know a 7 series is a BMW model).

Agree though, to say just "EP3" can be confusing.

But he could easily say "2004 3 series" or "2009 3 series coupe" and it would make perfect sense to everyone.

I drive a 2007 6 series. I've absolutely no idea what the manufacturer's internal designation for it is and, really, no wish to know. As long as it starts, stops, keeps me dry and doesn't break down too often, I'm quite happy.

It just strikes me as being a little "I'm in the know" read "I desperately need to get out more" IMO.

I assume people say "EP3" because they are too embarrassed to say "Honda Civic", as that makes it sound like a stty little shopping trolley that couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding no matter how high it revs... wink

Erm, quite simple really, pop up headlights biggrin.
This, plus how easy my car is to reverse park with the roof down, no need for fancy cameras.

I think they've all been mentioned (V70)

Clip on the windscreen
Stereo
Seats

The fact it can accommodate everything from a 3 seater sofa to a roller garage door with the boot closed (done both)

The (suprizingly comprehensive but practically useless on a modern car) toolkit built into the inside of the bootlid, fire extinguisher under the drivers seat and first aid kit under the passenger seat.

Hard drive.

No messing with aux inputs from devices just upload everything and control from steering wheel. Leave the pad in the house.

Oh, I also like the fact that the parking brake is a pedal instead of the more normal handbrake - it frees up lots of room in the center console so that I can have a massive armrest.

As has been said, the night panel. Coupled with the dimmer switch for the instruments you can almost completely black out the interior. Useful for long motorway cruises in the dark with cruise control set!

Also, the way the dash faces slightly towards the driver. Someone else said here earlier that you don't notice until you see it from the passenger side, and it's true, it's remarkable how much it is actually angled.

Finally, the fact that since it's been remapped, I have the ability to monitor data from more sensors than I knew existed on the car. A lot of which I don't understand, but it's nice to know it's possible.

Edit: Also, the fact that the key is in the middle, along with the window switches and gearstick. And coin holder. I find it very tactile.

Not really, that nomenclature is even more readily understood than BMW'S system. Whereas you mention that the E90 is a 3 series but then the E92 is a coupe, and then you have to get into the actual '3XYZ' designation just to understand what is actually being talked about.

With Honda you can say EP3, FN2, DC2, DC5, EK4, EK9 etc etc and there is no doubt at all as to what you're talking about.

My old Saab was full of wee features that were well thought out, all have been mentioned.

My Alfa actually has nothing like that, maybe the very comfortable Momo leather seats at a push. Actually scrap that, about 5% of the time it all gels together and becomes a very enjoyable car rather than the utter pain in the arse it can be on the daily slog.

I'm smitten with the little seatbelt extending arm that extends and retracts on my new 4 series

Tiny sunvisor above the rear view mirror.
Leccy seats.
Rear headrests flip down at the push of a button to aid reversing.
Manual winder in the boot for when the sunroof gets stuck open.

I wasn't specifically talking about EP3, but the names in general (including BMW's E or F numbers) smile
