I would have thought being in a more discreet car would create less attention from boy racers! Very good if you have bought it as a family hot hatch when you have kids in the car you don't want idiots tail gating you trying to race or trying to beat you at traffic lights etc.

I really wish this 265 was around when I bought my scirocco a couple years ago, would have been a much better option for me! Need to get my 'baby on board' signs up.

So not actually including the performance figures in the article, just saying they're not far off the other car I don't know the performance figures for.

Well that's not very fking annoying, is it...

Clue is in the title Cupra 280 and Cupra 265....

and then...

Mechanically the only difference is 15hp. The adaptive dampers and VAQ 'diff' are still present, as is the 258lb ft torque peak from the Cupra 280.

I have only recently started to notce Seats.

Really love the Q car looks of this but sadly I am not in the market for this type of car.

VAG cars I find hard to understand. The company seems to make so many cars under different brands that overlap but which all come with their own strengths and weaknesses. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a good thing, I just don't understand them.

Seat really are the better looking cars in the group. While this car is not flash, it certainly is good looking. Better than the offerings from VW and Skoda, possibly not Audi.

The Golf is seen as a benchmark car. Why would you choose one over this car?

Well like you say, for many people a golf is the default choice. For others, Seat is a mid range car which doesn't fit with their aspirations. They are missing out because the latest Leon is a cracking car, offering better value in most cases than it's relatives. It comes with masses of kit and the interior is now very good. A few cheaper plastics lower down the dash, but that really is the only compromise.

Had I been confused about the horsepower figures for the cars, that post would not have been a complete waste of your time.
