Following all the new tax disc law threads, I wondered if anyone had actually removed theirs since 1st October?

I have a disc in a 'Magnetax' holder, and then a parking permit above it in a similar holder. Funnily enough, the parking permit expired at the beginning of OCtober as well, and I don't need to renew it.

My screen has a crack in it anyway, so I am booked in at Autoglass for a replacement next week. Obviously the new screen will be empty - it will definitely look a bit strange!

Anyone bothered to remove it, or just thought they'd maybe do it once it's expired, or what?

Mine renewed on October 1st so didn't get issued with a disc, so have nothing to display. I keep looking at the space where it should be thinking I am doing something wrong.

I did, but only because I was cleaning the car of old crap and it caught my eye! I've hardly seen any cars without a disc so far.

Yep mines gone now. Although annoyingly even though the tax disc holder has only been on the windscreen for a few weeks it was still VERY firmly attached!

This was after specifically telling the Autoglass tech not to put one!

I didn't put my new 'unperforated' tax disc in at end of August.
On a related note, see how much the last ones on unperforated paper are selling for ?, hundreds of pounds believe it or not....

I was surprised at how difficult mine were to remove when I think back at the number of times I've picked them out of the passenger footwell.

Sod's law at work.

.
Agree with Muzzle. Screen looks much neater without stickers.

Mine all came off on first of the month. Except from the the classics which will be provided with early facsimile tax discs and holders to keep them looking the part as historic motors.

Mines been off since July when I had no tax disc holder as the old one lost its stickyness.

I've not bothered in the van, and probably wont, it'll fade in time.

The only cars I've seen without the disk have been brand new ones.

I have an age related one, a copy, to display on the bike, although I haven't put it on yet, as unless we suddenly have a heatwave it wont be going out until next spring anyway.

I'm stuck offshore just now but I'll be binning the discs and holders from both cars and the three bikes (well the two with holders) when I get back.

Don't know why it makes me happy, but it does!

Only took mine out when I opened the passenger door to get something out the glovebox, hardly seen any cars without them on.
