I will just leave mine in to remember the good old days because you just know that relying on computers very rarely ever ends well, appreciate that the windscreen does look cleaner without it though.

Just out of interest today I looked around the car park I was in and every car still had a tax disc on show so it seems I am not on my own in not having too much faith in the new system or people just cant be bothered to get rid of it.

Interesting. Straw poll then - what about your neighbours?

I walked through my road today to go to the local shops - not a single other car had a removed tax disc. I get the feeling that, after some confusion even on Pistonheads, that your general Joe Public does not even realise that you can remove them now?

I don't think most people appreciate they no longer need to display them. I guess as they expire and are not replaced they will then realise and remove the old one. So it will probably take about a year for them all to be gone.

Have removed it from one car, only because it looked neater with the new parking permit in the bottom corner.

Will get round to the other one in time.

I currently have a cold so my previous intention to remove the disc holder and clean the inside of the windscreen thoroughly has diminished somewhat.

I saw one that ran out in Sep14 in the work car park so it may take longer than that!

Company car yes, my own no chance! Just paid £285 for it so it can stay till its out of date!
Mine was rather more than that and I pulled it asap. It was the only thing that still gave the engine away.

Leaving all mine in place.

They have been there for 30 years, so it feels better to have it in the windscreen.

I've not actually driven my car this month yet, the next time I'm in it i'll probably whip it off.

I've only actually seen 1 taxless car so far and that was a fresh from the dealership 64 plate.

Nope, still in all my cars. It's on my to-do list.

It's missing out the hire car I have this week though. The holders still there.

I pulled mine out and cleaned the residue of the windscreen on the 30th. Being a LHD car its nice to have the thing rid of smile

It was a Richbrook metal thing that came with the car, I chucked it in the recycle bin as its no use to me any more and would probably never sell.

No, can't be arsed when I think of it TBH!
My wifes car expired at the end of Sep and is still there. Might just leave it for posterity.

I was thinking this on the way home, 99% of the cars travelling the other way still had them in also.

Personally I'll leave mine in - at least that stops the people who have yet to realise the law change trying to give you grief.

I'd have every faith in computers - just not those systems programmed by the sort of programmers HMG would employ

Renewed my car tax online on about 20th Sept so never got a disc anyway. By the law of averages, about one twelfth of the cars on the road have no disc or an out of date one now. OK, sale peaks in March & Sept skew the figures, let's say 6% ish, probably over 100,000 cars already.

Renewed mine in August. Disc still on display. Can't really see any reason to rush to remove it. In 24 years of driving I've never really found a small circle of card in the bottom of my screen to be an annoyance or obstruction. In fact usually forgot it was there until I had to renew it!

Removed my current tax disc and put the oldest one I could find back in for that period look (35 year old car).
