I haven't watched any of those YouTube channels. Not going to start now.

Similarly I won't be watching Chris Harris' new channel.

Anyone know what's going on? First it was last week, then the Merc review in the US delayed things a week, and now HarrisMonkey seems to have disappeared from twitter. Hope it's not all derailled horribly.

Will have a watch later as I'm currently at work. From a glance at the opening sequence, looks very similar to the /DRIVE channel. Are they still involved in some way?

It shows the 'Drive' logo at the start. I thought he'd split from them confused

They don't use the full logo, just the overlays... a bit cheeky!

Not all, but some of the later ones including the Drive+ videos.

I assume they were the self funded ones and therefore he solely owns the copyright.

I notice that the ones that have appeared on his channel are now private on the Drive channel.

Not much in it, on a track. Excellent test of stripes versus big wing for what makes a car go faster. hehe

Also, Harris should learn to wear some fancy footwear. wink

Not too sure if it is "funded" as he is still looking for funds… not too sure what you get for this. http://www.patreon.com/user?u=401656

It feels like a indie gogo or kickstarter website. But I think as the name suggest it's good old fashioned patronage for some arty vids… will the harsh world of You Tube buy it?

I meant some the old videos from drive that are now on his channel. Some of those he funded out of his own pocket in the dying phase of the drive channel.

And yes, it will be interesting to see the response of the next few months to the Patreon model.
