I like the pre-facelift E34s with the narrower front grill. Mines a newer one
My opinion changes about the grille, but they do look more classic. The f/l grille makes my car look sad.

Oh snap! Mine's a 520i too and even has the whiney gearbox. I'm actually toying with selling it at the moment. Not sure what image it gives off and quite frankly I don't care.

Other car is an MX5 - I don't care what people say about that either.

For reference - I'm 26, have floppy hair and glasses and work as a paralegal. Most of the people I work with have Audi A3 S-Lines and the like.
Much rather waft along in an E34 than a modern A3! Even if the 520 is a bit slow... How Whitney is your gearbox on a scale of mildly irritated toddler to fully stuck pig?

Plain looking Saab = boring office type

Beaten up rusty VW Camper = ageing hippy

One is very quick and the other has a new engine worth more than the first.

I've got a white Disco 300tdi as me every day car. It's never seen a sponge and occasionally gets a rough jet wash at work.
Probably says he's completely given up on life.
For some ridiculous reason I saved a Rover 220 a coupe from scrap and got the back on the road.
Probably says he hasn't got any money.
And the two motorbikes, GSX-R 750 and FZR 400.
Probably say he goes far too fast everywhere!

All pretty accurate really!

People should really write what they drive in their post, not expect everyone to look at their profile.

Anyway, I drive a Volvo S60 now.

People probably just ignore it, and those who notice would probably thing I'm paranoid about safety and dull.

I actually think it's new dad syndrome buying a Volvo (my boy is 1 month old) so I guess there is an element of truth there in driving a tank without a turret.
