LPG has finally dropped, it's at 62.9p at my nearest station. Makes running an old Jap car a lot cheaper!

I heard from a US Airman serving in the UK, that in the UK the US goverment subsidised fuel costs for overseas servicemen. So they effectively paid US prices in the UK. I think it's administered via a fuel card. frown

He could have been stting me however.

I've heard something similar from folk who have acquaintances from the states who work over here. Read something similar on PH as well. Gits!

BFG have access to subsidised fuel in Germany .

It's a legacy of cold war Status of Forces Agreements.

I suspect it also saves the DoD some money compared to constant adjustments in the various allowances paid to US service personnel.

Almost managed to get under £1/l yesterday. Tesco have unleaded at 121.9p so with the 20p off per litre the pump price changed to 101.9p.

Soon...

Update! $2.17 / gallon near me. Texas and Oklahoma going for $1.98 / gallon.....heading my way! smile

The Saudis are trying to lower the price by not cutting production. Their aim, IMO, is to drive prices low enough to make the fracking process too expensive. Putin claims it is a conspiracy between the U.S. and Saudis to lower the price to wreck Russia's economy. Who knows?

Down to £1.179 per litre here.

That's £5.36 UK gallon, or £4.29 US gallon.

At current exchange rates equals about $6.69 US gallon

I remember it being 39p per litre when I passed my test. (1990)

Ironically, that's about what the colonials are paying for their gasoline today smile

Passed one garage that was 115.9p for petrol and 119.9p for diesel.

I'm not sure if it was having a reduced price day like a few stations I know do as it was cheaper than everywhere else.

Down to 10p a litre at my local station in Saudi smile I'll be thanking my friends in Aramco on all of your behalf in due course.

119.9 for sans plomb in my locals in Tiverton where I run an RS6 (C6), so pretty thankful myself. (not sure on the 'super' price as I've not been back in 2 months)
