Reading this just made me smile about the cheap old Forester 2.5xt I have sat outside. Similar capability and performance but nobody notices or expects it biggrin
yes I keep looking at the likes of these SUV's to replace our 2.5xt and just can't get my head past the cost!

Depends what you want. as a second car for weekends and fun days they are unbeatable. as I said my daily steed is a 1.2 TDi Polo and its 70 odd to the gallon. My Cayenne has lost someone a hell of a lot of money before I got my hands on it.

Except I live on the 440m contour line in the hills of Northumberland…So they're not really chelsea tractors are they nickwillcock! A bicycle can be ridden in chelsea just the same as a Porsche can be driven round the streets. Some people actually do use cars for what they are designed for. The cayenne is a fast executive 4x4 off road capable tow vehicle that can pull 3 tons around behind it.
But... they were designed to be Chelsea tractors, so if you're towing things and driving across fields in it then you're clearly not using it for what it was designed for

Fair point it is Mrs K's car but I like to "use" it when the weather isn't suitable for the two roadsters and M135 I have

That is a dirty secret! Think the key thing is this... someone took an L405 to our shoot and got a ludicrous amount of abuse for it (claims of vulgarity etc)! Can't quite get my head around it personally as it's the only recent Range Rover that has ever been truly, demonstrably better than the competition (drove an early SDV8, was rapid and submarine quiet), and yet, I don't love it. Reckon the big hips make it look bloated, and the interior has lost any sense of utility (the 'executive' seats don't even fold down). Ah well, looks like L322s are the way to go, especially as they fall to sheddy prices wink
