Hi MC Bodge. Here are some pics of my car as requested.
Stunning looking thing.

Is it a retro/backdate/restoration job? Can you give us some more back ground on it (apologies if this has been done already)?

The car started life as a 1985 3.2L Carrera coupe with a 915 box. The car ended up in Ireland where the then owner decided to back date it. I have photographic evidence of the restoration/back date which included the removal of the impact bumbers front and rear. I believe the original wings were retained but adapted to fit lightweight RS front. Lightweight duck tail replaced the standard sport 'picnic table'. The bonnet is fibre glass, the rear seats were removed, lightweight front seats which are similar in look to the original RS seats fitted along with lightweight carpets. The radio was deleted and RS style door liners fitted. The sunroof was retained as many touring 2.7 RS cars had an electric sunroof. Electric windows were retained but the door mirrors replaced with a period chrome mirror on the drivers side only. The black anodised door and window frames were polished back to chrome. Original spec Fuch wheels etc. The car is light and having owned several 3.2s in the past, the reduction in weight completely transforms the performance and handling. It is a joy to drive and to own.

Interesting. Excellent stuff. Good choice of car.

If I ever have a change if financial circumstances I would like to do a project like that.

I would probably leave off the RS badges, though. As somebody said, although it could be better than the original, you would forever be telling people that it wasn't an original one.

Yes I can understand that, but apart from being a blast to drive, it is also a tribute to the RS. 99% of the population will never see one and so if seeing mine they think it's an original then that would make their day wouldn't it? However I can understand why someone who has spent 300k on an original would be upset! I don't really see the difference between my car and a print of the Mona Lisa?
