p.s. there are rules on how speed limits should be set, anyone can challenge a speed limit - I know this because I've done it, successfully, in the past - you can do this whether you've been caught speeding or not and it's those rules we need to be getting a look at, improving etc.
Interested in this topic - could you perhaps provide a quick primer on how to challenge a new speed limit?

Or a link to a "how to" page?

Sorry - missed this.

Prepare for the dryest read in the world

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploa...

and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Note: that's been updated at least twice since I used it to argue a 30 should have been a 40 - I didn't get a speeding ticket, I was just sick of doing 30 on a dual carriageway with no footpaths and I argued that there was no reason to have a 30 limit on such a road and the council agreed.

I did this because we'd argued that the 40 limit blind bend on which our office car park entrance was located was dangerous and the council had said that, because the road had no footpaths, someone could easily argue it should be a 40 - e.g. they basically told me how to do it.

Whether that still applies - I'll be honest, I've not got the strength to read all that again...

So was the speed limit raised or did it just get your appeal upheld?
