I'm a bit confused by the DTUK website FAQs. They warn against having a car flashed with a generic map, but are happy to sell you an expensive box containing a generic map!.

For me, it would have to be a remap, done by a company that knows what they are doing, on a rolling road. Tweaked to take account of driver needs (economy, driveability, performance) and the tolerances of the individual components fitted to the car.

Remap every time, we had 2 transporters one had a remap from 102bhp the other was a 140 bhp van with a dtuk box, the 102 was faster, the box gave very little improvement

My Saab remap was done by some guy in Kent and he did adjust it once because first time I wasn't happy. That was a year ago. Second remap was ace and improved fuel economy too.
