Is that a cine camera on the front of your 275GTB?

If so it must have been like a modern-day dash cam.
Yes. The car was part of a 3 Ferrari team, it, an LM250, & a P4. I was supposed to get film of the other 2 cars, & other top contenders in the race.

Only 2 problems. The camera was fixed, so I had to point the whole car at what ever I wanted to film. It only had 3 minutes of film, so I had to flick the reversing light toggle switch it was wired through, to start the thing, & again to turn it off, to save film. You could say it was an early attempt at an in car camera,

Even worse after nearly crashing a few times flicking switches, while trying to hold the car sideways, we found a rock had gone through the camera lens after just 3 seconds of filming.

Would you believe, in 1968 we considered the LM250 to be "the old nail", & did not want to have to drive it. What is it worth today?

Ahh youth.

My best handbrake turn was an absolute doozie but in hindsight still a bit antisocial hehe.

It was damp out on my way back from work and up ahead on a B road ( http://tinyurl.com/ThisBRoad in fact ) it turned out that the road was still closed.

I was only doing about 20mph, and well, you can imagine the rest.

The Clio sailed around in a perfect 180, ending up facing the correct way in the other lane, and so smoothly did it go around I was ready to pull away the moment it stopped and continued on my merry way in one fluid movement. Was extremely proud of that.

When I did a rally experience day in a RWD converted Impreza, it took quite a few attempts before my brain accepted that I had to depress the damn clutch when pulling the handbrake hehe Bad FWD snow habits of powering along with the handbrake on crabbing biglaugh

Speaking of crabbing, when I still lived at home it was in the absolute middle of nowhere, so the little country roads towards the village were never gritted or cleared. I crabbed the Clio along for so long once that I upset the ABS and had a warning light on the dash until some time the next day on the way back to work hehe

  • Crabbing is just what I decided to call it there, effectively imagine a proper car power oversteering, it looks like that, except your rear wheels are locked and just skating along, and the fronts are dragging you along sideways. Requires snow, lots of guaranteed empty road, and being a bit of an asshat.

Did one yesterday. Much quicker than a 3 point turn. Less time spent in middle of road.
LOL!

Will use this logic to settle my conscience going forward.

A long, long time ago that happened to me too. Apparently, my colleagues who were in the car at the time weren't used to that sort of driving.

I tried a HBT in my employer's car park a long time ago and ended up struggling to release the handbrake afterwards. It was pulled up so hard in my youthful exuberance to do a proper turn that it took two hands a a deal of effort to release it! paperbag I've never bothered since...

Thats why you hold the button in! silly

My best handbrake parking effort involved a 270 degree spin and ended by seamlessly rolling backwards into the chosen parking space. bowtie
