1988 is a bit late for Wham. Or have I missed the point?

Ooh yeah.

My Mother (who was 20 something at the time) had one of those, a 500 SEC in Red, A168 LBV. Properly good car that.

...My Grandad had one (twin carbs!) and claimed it could do 120mph, my Dad didn't believe him.

That won't cut any ice here. See my comment about the 70s Golf that's still an 80s car. Apparently.

On that basis the Caterham 7 and Morgan are 70s cars too.

For me, either of:

I think the OP nailed it with the Manta. Either that or the Cossie. And just for laughs the DeLorean.

That is lovely!! Ah the sweet rose tint of nostalgia! Mum and Dad had one each at one point in 1986! Only a 2.8 non injection and a 2.3 though....

Apart from the rust on the doors it doesn't sum up the rust in my C reg white Metro Turdo.

In fact the rusty wings on any C reg metro best sums up the 80's

Apart from the rust, they were very good cars at the time. Remember mum having one and it driving far better than crap like the Maestro at the time.
