Damage from the wind... repairable?
Discussion
I had almost the same happen, except it was my roof and my car.In my case I approach the building insurers first they would not pay and I had to claim on my car insurance. ( building insurers was preferred to avoid loosing NC discount.
I had had the ridge tiles secured some three years previous...but in the right conditions any roof will come apart.
Just my experience

Buildings insurance is (usually) required by a mortgagee.
Presumably this is because if the building were to burn down, the mortgager would want it rebuilt (and if the mortgagee could afford that he probably wouldn't need a mortgage...), not because a tile might fall off and hit the neighbours car?Edited by bobfett on Wednesday 22 October 13:33
Separate thing, but the mortgagee is the bank/building society/lender, the mortgagor is the borrower.
Slight update...

Currently establishing any contribution from the land lords insurance (so still in the same position as per the argument above ).
An offer had been made by my insurers, which is a bit light. Assuming the standard routine is to suggest they go higher, offering some substantiation?
They've asked for copies of my docs, the MOT, which I'd expect. They've asked for a copy of the purchase receipt too - unsure of the reason for that request though...
Advice greatly appreciated.
