isn't it NA too? Plus, it don't sound a patch on a Cayman S!
Indeed (to both).

sounds just like my 356 in these curves, so what's not to like? I might be tempted to trade it in for this when i get older, losing my hair (not many years from now).

Is there actually any advantage in equal length headers if you're going to turbocharge though? I'd always assumed that turbo-charging made scavenging almost impossible because of the damping effect it has on exhaust gas pressure.
You need to time the exhaust pulses into the turbine wheel so they don't interfere and hamper response. Particularly with a twin scroll turbine housing. Any delays result in pulse overlap and lost energy.

Ah OK, so instead of scavenging to increase volumetric efficiency, you want to maintain constant exhaust pressure to keep the turbo spinning at a constant rate/pressure? Makes sense. smile

Sounds like pretty much any OEM spec car on track.

Tyre noise, tyre noise, tyre noise, a little exhaust, tyre noise, tyre noise.....

Will be keen to see what the tuners can make of the sound

Kinda, it's about maximising the energy that each pulse can provide to the turbine wheel.

This site here shows the difference in exhaust pulses (rough, but accurate enough to get an idea) between a mono scroll turbine and twin scroll turbine.

Scavenging can still be used on a turbo engine to good effect to get rid of exhaust gas in the chamber and increase airflow at very low engine speeds. Makes some interesting shapes on the compressor map doing so.

Lets hope the four cylinder will be more reliable than their sixes. IF they can engineer it properly it could be the best Porsche Cayman yet - the lightest, with turbo torque would be great.

Correct but don't let the truth get in the way of a good myth touted in many a pub.

"The main aim of the Cygnet was to reduce the company’s average CO2 emissions, based on the titchy Toyota iQ"

Which is it?

The 914 has been re-invented smile

They'll get it right, flat four should sound interesting, if a 4 cylinder can work in something like the Alfa 4C Porsche will do a fine job i'm sure.

it sound like an original spyder the one james dean had which this car is themed from and then added a solid roof. more authentic yet shockingly votes are low.

Really interested in this, taking Porsche in a newer direction that hasn't been seen for a while. What price do we reckon these will start?

About the same as the current base Cayman, would be my guess. I don't think it'll be a lower entry model, it'll simply replace the current entry model.

Long as they still offer a flat 6....... ??? I dont care...

fk this trend of downsizing. We will have hybrid GT3's before too long.
