Cant believe the truck driver just kept his foot in regardless - he couldn't have known how it would all have ended.

it's a terrible idea to have vehicles stopping on the slip road when joining a flowing motorway
That's why the slip road is there, to avoid that very situation.

Abusing it then somehow blaming innocent traffic is utter nonsense.

How could he see? Xray vision through the dash / door?

Standing up away from the drivers seat in the middle of the cabin leaning forward over the deep dashboard to get his head where the camera is? Who's driving while he's off playing jungle Jim's on the dash?

Read my post again.... I assign the blame very clearly. (There can be more to an accident than who is ultimately determined responsible - speeding biker and car turns right across its path etc)

Honda driver totally responsible and very poor driving.

Trucker, IF he saw or should have seen the car allowing for the blind spot excuse - is also an idiot.

IF he didn't have any opportunity to see the car - pretty faultless.

But perhaps he needs to leave more space to the vehicle in front of him.

Exactly the same will happen - if he'd left space for 3 cars to join, 4 or 5 would try to join. However much space you leave people will still try squeeze into gaps that aren't there. That's at every slip road on and off at every junction on the journey. It's often madness out there.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ that's more correct than anyone could ever manage to think.

When you drive all day and you leave a gap someone will always have to get in front of the lorry.

But that's all there bothered about is getting infront, not thinking about the driver whose braking space has been reduced but hes still expected to pull 44 ton up before he hits them.

2 drivers I know have hit people up the arse when they ve pulled in due to the reduced gaps etc and both had dash cams, both insurances went 50/50.

cars weren't in the best conditions after and lorrys wanted a bumper kickin straight.

People will never learn.

Bring on the licence cull

This is a perfect example of why some people should their driving licence removed for good, no coming back after a retest, just a permanent ban & a free bus pass.

Was the Honda driver ever prosecuted for driving without due care or dangerous driving? I bet not, but they should be.

I agree to a point. It's also pretty normal that a truck wouldn't wait for a truck sized gap to appear before moving from lane 1 to lane 2 for example. They'd argue they have no choice as the 'right' gap rarely appears (and there is some truth in that)

To make any real judgment of the lorry driver in the clip we'd have to know what he was thinking (ie - I hope he wasn't stubbornly defending his patch) and what he could have seen if he had been looking (it may be possible the car managed to find a route to the corner of the lorry without being in a position it could have been seen).

What we do know with certainty is that the Honda driver has no excuse - just awful driving.
