One of my bonnet washer jets is seized and the other half seized. One of them it's the nozzles (metal so rusted closed I guess?) as I tried jamming paper clips in and can't clear it.

The other it seems to be further in the U bend shape of the nozzle, sticking a paper clip down both ends hasn't done anything, neither has soaking in water / blowing it.

Any ideas of anything I can soak them in to free them?

I have a rare factory colour and can't get them ordered in my colour any more...

Second the vinegar. Do you know anyone with a compressor who could blow them clear for you?

Pretty sure one is rusted up in the nozzles so this wouldn't work on, but maybe the other one. Potentially someone with a compressor yes...Thanks for the tip

S2000?

The nozzles have a small ballbearing in them (supposedly to stop back pressure??) - it will be this stopping it - remove it and it will work. Or swap them round to prove its this.

I used to use welding nozzle cleaners, they are a very thin file.Start with a very thin one and it soon clears the blockage.

Yes s2000! Not sure of this ballbearing you speak of - how do you access it? Can't see where to open up the nozzle?

Cheers.

Open the bonnet, disconnect the water pipe from the plastic connector to the nozzles and operate the washer - make sure the water is actually coming through this far. From memory there is a plastic right angle bend that clips into the nozzle and its in this - if you take it off and shake it you'll hear it - you can push it through this bit of plastic with a jewellers screwdriver.

If by any chance its the actual nozzle clipped onto the bonnet, you can swap them with some other Honda that also has the benefit of a spray pattern, rather than the jet.

Recently had this problem on one of the family cars not used for several months. Algae turned black in washer bottle from lack of use immediately blocked the four jets and their nozzles after brief squirts initially.

I lifted bonnet and disconnected both delivery tubes from the twin jets. Placed garden hose in the filler neck of the washer bottle and blasted out the black crud and algae overflowed until run clean and clear. Then filled with fresh water and Operated the washer switch to clear any remaining black stuff. Water pumped fast and clear from the delivery tubes. Then removed the jets from their bonnet locations. Soaked in hot water for a few minutes then tried something which I'd remembered in the distant past which worked when solving this problem

I have a plastic 50ml Syringe. Filled that with hot water and placed syringe nozzle over each of the for jets in turn. The pressed the Syringe Plunger which pushed the hot water under pressure into each of the four jets in turn and observed more black crud ejected in the back flush pressure. All four jets clear and fine now with jets hitting the screen. Then off to the Mot. Poor washer jet performance is an MoT fail.

Plastic Syringes of various sizes are available for little money. Very useful for numerous jobs on the car.
