Polo
Can't change the time on the dash, has been an hour wrong since March, will be right again this weekend
Spring on cup holder broken (you might think this trivial, but scalding coffee being launched at you isn't fun)
IPod connector temperamental, sometimes chooses its own tunes to play (seems to favour Radiohead, leading me to suspect it might be depressed)

Ibiza
Rear brakes are binding, really must get that looked at, prob handbrake cable
Exhaust hanger is slightly loose, rattles annoyingly (but not annoyingly enough for me to do anything about it)
N/S mirror glass held in with glue
Remote fob battery failing resulting in not working when over 2 metres from car

Van
Ever-expanding crack on windscreen that's passed the last 4 MOTs won't this time
Screenwash reservoir leaks
Slow puncture on front left tyre
Sliding door needs heavy application of fist or elbow to close properly
Gas springs don't hold the rear door up when open ... sometimes ... has twice resulted in door/head interface

Three months without a wing mirror glass so far. It's £500 for the glass only.

I keep booking work exams which cost slightly more than the mirror (two in last two months) to improve my career instead.

It's not illegal, but it looks really rubbish and cheap seeing as i drive a f10 M5 frown
How on EARTH can a wing mirror glass possibly cost £500?

from another thread "Aren't BMW parts expensive?" "Oh, they're quite reasonable actually"

Yeah. Sure.
M-Tax.

Not that BMW are unique in this regard. The price of the Mazda MPS parts are eye watering, which brings me on to faults for the other car.

Mazda 6 MPS:

1) The brakes squeak at slow speed, on investigation the caliper brackets where the pads slide are a little bit worn and the noise is the pads moving slightly but unlike the standard 6 where replacement brackets are £20ea the MPS ones are unique to that car and are £150(+VAT) ea... I'd buy them if it wasn't that it'll do exactly the same again as they're a cheap design with the pads running on the brackets with no sliding/wear plates.
2) The light on the bottom of the drivers door flickers.
3) The boot release handle sticks and needs pushing back into place or the boot won't shut.
4) One of the exhaust trims in the bumper is loose.
5) One of the locking wheel nuts was replaced with a normal nut - but it's a rusty old one, keep meaning to get a new one but then that'll make the others look grubby so really should buy a full set.
Alright - you got me.. £475. Depending on Euro/£ conversion from BMW Germany to main dealer.

It's heated, anti-glare etc.

When I was a student my AX GT had a broken starter motor, it worked intermittently for a while using hammer and block of wood persuasion, then finally gave up so I drove around for 6 months with no starter motor. Obviously I always parked on hills so it was easy to jumpstart. The only problems I had were petrol stations (they're flat) and a dodgy carb which meant random engine cut-out especially in winter temps. It was such a light car it was easy enough to jump start on my own. I kind of miss the unpredictability in a way!
