Getting a tyre bought online fitted
Discussion
Never done this before (always used etyres / event tyres / or one of the ones that nominates a local garage to do the fitting), but just bought a replacement tyre online.
Have called 2 local tyre fitters who have refused to fit it. I don't expect them to do it for free, but £20 or whatever for 10 minute's work doesn't seem excessive. One of them told me it was due to their insurance.
Is it really this difficult? Am I going to have to return the tyre to camskill?
Anybody know of a tyre fitter near Bromley who will fit a customer tyre!?

This is how I almost always buy tyres and don't have a problem finding someone to fit them. There's a small independent nearby and a much larger place, still non-chain, a bit further away who will fit them for £15 a corner.
Perhaps if you provided your location someone could recommend a place.

If you can't find a tyre dealer who will do it, try your local wheel refurbishing businesses. Some will sell tyres, but many won't. They will without fail have tyre fitting equipment which is usually better quality and less abused than the majority of high street retailers. I will only use my favoured refurbisher for fixing punctures, swapping tyres etc and they usually charge a tenner to do so. The one I use sells tyres but they can't match the online prices but don't moan at me for bringing in what I've bought elsewhere

Which isn't far from where I work, so again, showing my interest
Had the same experience.
Independent 1&2 - Refused to fit tyres that were not bought from them.
Independant 3 - Was worried he may scratch my alloys fitting the tyre (19x275x35) which I found odd.
National Tyres - Fitted for £16 a corner including new valves, balancing and disposal of the worn tyres.
