After deciding three days ago to rationalise the fleet I have sold both my GTV V6 and Saab 9-5 Aero in the space of 22 hours meaning I have 5k to spend on a single replacement

O/h has a Citroen C2 for her 6 mile commute, we have a Boxster S for fun

I want a 'nice' comfortable four seater with a decent turn of speed - car will do about 6-7k per year so running costs won't be too bad (hopefully) and half of that mileage will be claimed at 40p per mile

Heart says:

Mercedes CL500
S Type R
XJR
X350 V6

Head says stick with Saab and get a 9-3 2.8T

Thoughts welcomed

What about an M5? For nearly 6K you could have one, in this my is a v8 with 490+ BHP and a milltek exhaust system!

Just pulled the trigger and put a deposit down on a rather nice looking S Type R - hope it lives up to expectations

Two hours from first post to deposit.
You didn't give us much chance!
If it's a pos, at least you won't have wasted any time on it tongue out

Been doing my research for a few days but OH would have gone mental if I had put down a deposit without selling the two I had promised to - quite pleased to have sold two cars in 22 hours two days after advertising them and dropping only 3150 on the prices in total
