Posted this in general gassing because there doesnt seem a more relevant forum for it.

Im looking for opinions on the renault master (current model) from anyone who owns one, any weak points? general reliability etc?

Ive had my current van (a transit 330 lwb hi roof) for 7 years, I bought it new in october 2007 and speced it from factory, its only done 67000miles and its been pretty reliable, apart from a break down last year, its never missed a beat. id have run it into the ground, but my accountant advised me to buy a new van for tax purposes.

So i started hunting round for a new van. Another mk7 transit wasnt an option because i just fancy something different if im changing. It has to be lwb and tall enough to stand up in. The new shape transit is, in my opinion, the susan boyle of vans, I didnt think anything could be uglier than the relay/boxer/ducato, but hats off to ford, they certainly created a van worse looking than those.
Sprinter and crafter are too expensive for a new or nearly new van, so i boiled it down to a master/movano/nv400 (all built by renault).

7 years ago when i bought the transit, there were plenty of companies willing to take a deposit, order a van with a dealer, pre register it and give a big discount, i paid £15500 at the time and that was about £7000 off list. It seems that loop hole has been tightened up on a bit, so i started looking at 2013/14 low mileage vans and found a 2013 master lwb medium roof with 14000miles and most importantly, in metallic (dont want a white van) at a good price.

So ive taken the plunge and put a deposit down, picking it up next week. Ive not even driven one, but it was pretty much a case of this or nothing. The reviews i can find on the net are all pretty good, but id love to hear from an actual owner of one.
