Vehicle tax or Insurance?
Just looking at the vehicle tax reminder on my desk and I realised that for the first time, all of my cars actually cost more to tax than insure!

For interest the ratio is Annual Road tax is 1.4 times more expensive than insurance for the same period.

Can this be used as some sort of PH scale?

Insurance. Still over £300, tax is £285 on the car and £58 for the bike.

Insurance for me.

£475 for one car fully comp and £450 for the other 3rd party so not far off £1000 for 11k miles of insurance in a year.

I think Tax is £265 each.

I hate insurance costs.

Over the three cars it's about evens. One is dearer to tax than insure, for the other two insurance is marginally higher.

Tax £500 + £215 + £20 = £735

Insurance £260 + £240 + £650 = £1150

insurance would be cheaper, nearer £600 for all three but had to add my eldest on as a driver to one.
