I go for a drink most friday nights around 5pm, usual get a lift to and from the pub so no issues with driving, if I do have to take the car my consumption depends on the strength of the ale available, if there is a 3.5% or less I will have two pints, if stronger I will have one.

This is based on a personal risk assesment, I am confident that with that level of consumption I am under the legal limit and perfectly safe to drive.

With the proposed new limit I think I would still be borderline so less inclined to risk it so would probably restrict myself to a single beer regardless of strength. (not 8-9%ABV)

I'm a complete lightweight....pissed on two pints, so for me it's absoluteley none.

Few people are going to admit to having over 2 pints and driving although it's more common than you think.

1 pint if I'm not eating, 2 with a meal if it's over a few hours.

Never been stopped (touch wood).

Won't drive until the afternoon if I've had a heavy one the night before.

I worked at the Police for ages and wrote a breathlyser database, that uploaded the data from the machines, test it by having three pints at lunch, came back, tried it, was slightly over, tried again and 30 mins later was under the limit, so, after three or four hours I think the level would be negligible.
You get bonus points for admitting to being a copper and drinking 3 pints at lunch time before returning to work biggrin
Was IT staff, not a copper, was a one off, 3 pints at lunch for me is a recipe for just being a gobste, getting nothing done and peeing all afternoon !

That said, I worked at GMP Force HQ and they had a bar on the 2nd floor when I started there, fair few pissheads there.

Just one and I never usually drive until more than an hour after I've drank it.

I wouldn't intentionally drink and drive - if its the pub then no car, however a quick pint whilst having been out for a drive might find me at the pub, but it would be one pint max.

I am more concerned about the 'morning after' and your test result following, say, a bottle of wine and a few beers the night before is tested early in the morning.

I'm feeling self righteous at the moment having abstained thru October and now on my 27th alcohol free night. Only a few more to go... smile

I really enjoy a beer, so I'll have one pint max if I'm driving (or 2 shandies) then soft drinks only.
If I'm on the bike then nothing at all.
