It'll be fine. Keep posting about how you get on, because I bet it will not let you down, and you can attempt in some way to debunk the myth of Renault = unreliable.

It is much safer to get even more drunk. So drunk you wake up and *think* you have bought an old Porsche on Ebay, then post all about it on PH. But later find out that actually, you didn't. hehe

I accidently won a pair of Gilera dna's 50cc this morning, not really sure why as I have a full bike license so no need for 50cc and I was looking for a motocrosser/enduro bike at the time!

Was following this shape clio home tonight it had some very bizarre electrical faults with the indicators seeming to cause brake lights to flash randomly etc...

I had a 172 though and it was bulletproof reliable however so hope its okay for you. The standard models are an okay drive as well it just takes a bit of getting used to the heavy clutch!

The steering wheels are made of a material that is susceptible to the midly acidic sweat in human hands. That's why they go minging.

As for the lights - try cleaning them with baking soda toothpase. I'm not joking, it really does clear them up

I would have appear to have placed a currently winning bid on a 14 year old MG with a missing front bumper in need of repair.

Why, I don't know. The back end looked nice and shiny though.

I haven't told the OH yet, I'll save that for tomorrow if the worst should happen.

A casual browse on ebay resulted in the £900 e39 523i Touring sitting outside on my drive right now.

Everything works, great car despite having had 6 previous owners.

£57.90 for a brand new pair of headlights delivered on ebay if the current ones are beyond repair.

Good find, but unnecessary. Meguiars do a great kit (look it up on Amazon, you're a big boy) for about £16. Transforms the lights in an hour or so, which is less time than it'd take to replace the clusters and a third of the price.

Simon.

Well the Clio is not going to be a keeper. The basic soundness is there, but there are issues.

1. Knocking on the steering - It's either suspension mounts or a bearing on the steering column. Neither is hugely expensive using our local chap.
2. Indicator does not tick - This is £350 to fix. It's mounted on the car's main board that can't be reprogrammed. So it's a new and dealer only part. Crap.
3. One seat does not fold (not sure if MOT fail or not?).
4, It's bloody noisy.

It's plus points remain the sound engine, and economy. 46 MPG Ave on what is nearly always short cold journeys.

To get through it's next MOT is going to cost more than the car.... So I will move it on. Would make a decent little runner for someone inclined to sort it out.

I'm off to collect a £450 Pug 307 tomorrow smile As per usual don't know an awful lot about it other than no one else wanted it....

Are you bored with that one yet? Looks lovely. Just what swmbo wants to ferry about the white Alsatian that she wants but hasn't bought.

Yet...........
