Advice buying car from AXA insurance + new car choice
Discussion
Hi unfortunately someone has backed off their drive today into my car and it is looking like a write off. The car is only worth about 2k and it needs new rear bumper, probably rear quarter and some scratches on wheel. So unfortunately it will probably be written off.
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience off buying a written off from AXA. AXA is who the 3rd party is insured with. I would not want to repair it only to use it as a run around until I find a new car if it is cheap enough. I know the car inside out, it is solid and very reliable and only cosmetic damage, it drives perfect. It is the better option than buying an unknown banger whilst I find a new car.
Also I was looking at a potential replacement upgrade if it is written off. My initial thoughts are:
Golf GTI mk5 2.0tsi
Scirocco 2.0tsi
C30 2.0 diesel/T5 petrol
BMW coupe E92 320d/330i
Alfa Guiletta 1.4 petrol 170
Sorry for the wide variation has anyone any thoughts on these or any other new car ideas I do about 8k per year?
Thanks in advance
Rob
