I think people are being slightly harsh on the Ruskies, probably because hardly any of you have any experience of them other than what you read in the paper which is probably 80% lies.

Having dealt with one daily for 12 months, they really aren't that bad and are actually quite generous.
The only russians I have experience of are the loud, abnoixious, bullying, tight-speedo wearing types you get on holiday. Considering how many of them there usually are, I assume the sample to be fairly representative. Oh, and I read The Times...

The only russian i have ever met was a very well dressed eloquent whose company it was a pleasure to be in.

Well worth the £150 an hour.

So an oligarch is a representative of an average Russian?

Do you know how they made their money?

Well Abramovich actually seems like a decent owner of Chelsea but the oligarch's don't have an amazing track record (hurrr) with buying things and handling them properly.

Absolute farce, the state and politicians should hang their heads in shame at 1. How it got to this in the first place 2.the way the sales been handled.
Got to love the naïvety.

Politicians are not so clever people who convince even less clever people that they are in charge of things.

Most of these Russian billionaires are nothing more than theiving bullies who sequestrated national resources because the politicians of their state weren't in control of of the resources or the gangsters who annexed them.

Could easily be the case that it will be Kharitonin's money but Capricorn will manage the track, so no real change from where we are now.

Most immense fortunes are due to theft or mass murder of millions. Just look at the history of the Church, or Royalty. Russian gangsters are like innocent toddlers by comparison. Yet we all end up worshiping the money in the end.

It least someone has put up some money to save the track and if he's a petrolhead too surely that's a good thing? Potentially he could spend a lot on the track.

I can't see it becoming a private playground , the whole area would collapse , let's hope it's a step in the right direction for everyone .

Wealthy Russian buys private race track. Gets bored and turns it into Golf course?

Get the feeling that the council were very very reluctant to sell it to anyone other than a German concern.

I think they should have embraced a crowd funding concept with the Ring (albeit it is too late)

A little like the Eurotunnel where shareholders received deeply subsidised crossings. I'm sure a friend of mine still gets a number of crossing per year at £1 a time! Perhaps the level of investment dictated the lap subsidy on a sliding scale.

I bet there are stacks of people out there who would have had a piece of that pie...

Excited to see the outcome, the last time Russia was in Germany things really did change!
