With the demise of motorail can anybody suggest alternative ways of getting a car to the Highlands. And no I don't fancy driving 600 miles in a noisy uncomfortable machine that is nothing short of a racing car,and yes I know I can tow it on a trailer but where can I get a trailer from?
Any help would be very welcome
Thank you

Most people will ask for a postcode, and charge around 75p a mile if they do it for a living.

You maybe able to piggy back with another job, as well so could be cheaper for you.

That is what I do anyway?

Hire a trailer - try Google

Or use a recovery firm - try Shipley

I've got one of those. Loads of torque but no tow hook!

Would you drive it back from Inverness or Aberdeen?

Ask glasgow car movers or A1 automotive transport to do it for you.

Not just me, then?

Get a map out, and plot a route through some interesting bits of countryside. B&B or two en route. Job jobbed.

I regularly manage 1200 mile treks to the NW Highlands in a very noisy and leaky Seven- and love it, even the motorway bits which would be tedious in a daily driver but somehow manage to be part of the adventure . What is OP's racing car- Exige ? Luxury .....

What would be the point in that, he lives in the South West, if he's happy to do 600 miles to Inverness he might as well drive the whole thing!

buy breakdown cover
unplug lots of sensors and cut some wires
do it after 6pm at night(when all local garages are closed)
call recovery
wake up at home

Trailer ok if you have a B+E on licence

Would it be a one way trip only or could you return the trailer ok from where you hired it?
