As it's Halloween I'm wondering if anybody has a Halloween related tales about driving or cars.

A friend's grandfather told us a tale of when he was driving past Samlesbury Hall between Blackburn and Preston in the dark, where the ghost of a white lady is said to cross the road, and he saw a young woman waiting at the roadside. He stopped and offered her a lift and she got in the back seat of the car. He set off and drove her to Mellor and when he stopped the car and turned round to the back seat she'd disappeared!

Does anyone else know any spooky driving tales or has anyone experienced something for themselves?

I spotted two women dressed as cheerleaders. That's going to cause an accident.

That's not what you mean, I know.

Back in 84 Driving with friends across to Bude from Southampton, three cars decided on different routes.Somewhere in Devon took a right hand turn, looked in rear view and woman in road directly behind me ( matter of feet), thought oh hell nearly hit her, drove on few hundred yards, looked again and she was still there - same distance - accelerated hard - hillman hunter. Weirdly we arrived in Bude at the same time, came to a junction, one group came into sight from one direction, the other from the other.

Woman doing the school run today in her silver Audi, all normal except for the fact she was in full on skeleton makeup. A good job of it too but she was keeping a straight face as if she'd forgotten.

Young women's Halloween costumes mainly seem to consist of lingerie and cat's ears, not that I'm complaining.

Last night I picked up a girl I work with from a Halloween party, as she got in I apologised for being late (I wasn't) and made up a story about a scary encounter with an old lady who disappeared as she got to my car window, just to enter in to the spirit of things...

She just looked at me and called me a "knobhead"
