I know there are a lot of good people out there but I met a top bloke today.

I took my lad out for a bike ride, we only did about 8 miles off road but about 200 yards from the end of the trail he got a puncture, and sods law I didn't have any of my kit as I didn't Intend taking him off road.

Anyway we are about 2 1/2 miles away from home so a bit of a walk. Off we set pushing our bikes and up ahead is a bloke checking the oil in his BMW, I only noticed this because it was an Alpina B3. We walk past and I say "morning" couple of seconds do later he calls me back and can see my lad has a puncture. He goes in his house and gets his kit of tyre leavers and patches and let's me fix the puncture saving us a couple of miles walk. We stand and shoot the st for five minutes then off home.

Top bloke for his help. Generally people offer help when you are out on the trails but just to help someone walking past your house is an impressive show of kindness.

If the owner of the B3 that helped me this morning reads this. Thank you, Thank you very much.

Since riding a pushbike more, i have found people to be a lot friendlier!

I fixed a broken chain for someone out on the mountains last week, not a word of thanks.

My faith was restored back in August when in a rather drunken state I lost my wallet (money clip) in Paris. This is what happened . . .

When I was about 15 me and a mate were on a road that crosses some common land when I had a puncture so we started walking. A tractor with one of those cage type boxes on the back past in the opposite direction carrying some hay, about 10 minutes later he came back, pulled over and asked if we were ok. We told him I had a punture, so he told us to get in the box on the back and we bounced our way the next village where we rang my father and he brought a spare inner tube.

Kind of the same but from a friend, so more kindness of friends I suppose.

The oh and I woke up to a burst water pipe above out dining room last weekend, Saturday morning. I gave my friend a ring to see if he knew of a good plumber that would not mind a call out fee on a Saturday.

Anyway half an hour later both him and his dad, both builders but thats not the point, were over taking the ceiling down, fixing the water pipe and offering to re board/plaster the ceiling. I offered a call out cost for them but nether would take anything for time or pipe materials.

Needles to say something will be given to them when they come over to plaster.

It's nice to see there are nice people left in the world.

This looks like the stuff romance novels are made of.

A number of years ago when I was a special constable with Strathclyde Police, having finished my day job at 4pm, I started a police shift at 5pm and found myself guarding a crime scene on a dark, wet and cold winter's night. There I was, tired, wet, cold and hungry, hoping that I would be stood down soon. After a few hours, I heard a 'psssst' from one of the doors behind me. I turn around to find a woman standing with a tray of tea, toast and biscuits - 'you're all doing a great job' she says - really made me think about how nice some people can be.

The world has its fair share of knobjockeys who would never even consider "wasting their time" offering help or assistance to a random stranger.

Thankfully there are a certain breed of folk who are willing to go the extra mile and allow Joe Bloggs to have some faith in humanity.

I have received and given in these scenarios, Karma.

Sadly Sophie turns out to be a steroid taking body builder, at least if her Facebook is to be believed. Incidentally the reason that she came across the money was because she was on her way to the gym, at 5am, on a Sunday.

Theoretically the money clip was only lost for an hour or so as I (apparently) didn't arrive home until gone 4am. smile
