Just seen this on a facebook 'stuff for sale'

Hard to think that...

A. The car has been driven in this state for some time

B. The car passed an MOT last time out

My parents are exactly like this. Invariably when their cars break down it's because they've been "ripped off" and then slag the garage off. I'm not exaggerating either.

On the plus side, I've not seen them for nearly 6 years so it annoys me much less than it used to.

Does worry me. A good female friend of mine has a lease car through her own business. Went for service yesterday, and they reported it needed tyres. They can't them in until this afternoon.

I asked her the mileage, 42k, had she ever looked at her tyres, no??? Why would she, thats what the service and MOT is for. She is showing canvass apparently, and was upset they wouldn't let her take it home! Jeez

This sort of thing is very common now drivetrains are so reliable, no points or carbs to fettle, meaning as long as the car starts the perception is things are OK.

Couple that with many people being short of cash and thinking an MOT is a service and you end up with vehicles like the above.

And to think there was a proposal to extend MOT tests to every 2 years.

An ex girlfriend of mine got pulled over for no MOT and when the officer mentioned this she pointed at the tax disk and said it hadn't.

Got a producer and it passed fine the next day.

Girlfriends family are le this

Mot is the only essential thing on the motoring radar

All of their cars have had their time on this planet cut short over something that a simple service would have rectified for a couple of quid
