Haha, i NEVER thought i'd see one of these on track! I love the car, but tracking it!!!???
I was waiting for my Caterham to be ready so used the tow car in the morning while I was waiting, then hooked the trailer back on to collect the Caterham from Dartford during the lunch break. It was only about 4 weeks old, too. I don't suppose the 350Z driver liked it much though, I was all over him :-)

As an all rounder, they are great cars - mine have been used for touring, towing, carrying large loads, family car, off roading and even on track. Forget about image and what other people may or may not think, if you need a car of this type, go and try one!!

Black, tints and large-ish wheels..........and I think it looks great.

(It's amazing how people on PH can be so narrow-minded and judgemental.)

I must say though, the 22's looked nice but they were not good for the ride comfort an the black was hard to keep looking nice. My 'new' one for Mrs turbobungle looks much nicer in Grey with Cream though.

So I started off by contributing to this thread with some rather disparaging comments.

In the last few days I seem to have seen nothing but RRSs (just back from Westfield White City/ Shepherds Bush where you could walk from one end of the car park to the other ON RRSs and never touch the floor).

Maybe I have some residual guilt from the 'decent human being' comment, but goddamn it Im starting to feel rather drawn to them.

Reckon I'd still opt for a smart L322, but Im far less dismissive of the old RRS than I was.

I only do 5-6K miles a year... maybe I could even justify a supercharged one! :-0

Be careful they get under your skin. Supercharged is definitely the way forward for that low a mileage.

Well I'm a Range Rover fan. I've rolled a Classic in the 80's and survived. I've owned several L322's, in my mind the best interpretation of what a modern Range Rover should be design wise and now own a L405 Supercharged. I must confess I've tried the Sport once and bought a TDV8 back in 2008. Yes it is a good car but is it a Range Rover? My answer is definitely NO. It is based on a Discovery and should have been called Discovery Sport. The reason they have branded it as Range Rover is the same as why they branded the Evoque as a Range Rover: MARKETING. The Sport is a rebodied and rebadged Discovery, the Evoque a rebodied and rebadged Freelander. Both a good opportunity to increase profit margins using existing mainstream chassis to attract new image concious customers who might as well buy a Cayenne, X5/6, ML and the like.
A proper Range Rover customer is I think more loyal to the brand and wouldn't buy anything else and certainly not a car that pretends to be a Range Rover.
The original discovery was just a rebodied rangerover so the rrs is just payback for that...
