Those who think that [manoeuvre > signal > mirror] puts them in the right and you in the wrong after they've just pulled out on you mid-overtake..
I see what you did there clap

Also people that dazzle other drivers, with HIDs, badly aligned headlights, or abuse fog lights and main beam when unwarranted.

People that shoot out of junctions in front people, cutting it pretty fine, just to be that one car ahead and then sit daudling well below the speed limit. Especially if it's just you and there's no cars behind you; they could have pulled out safely then and meandered at their own steady pace. Why!
I normally overtake them straight away after they've pulled out if it's possible without losing pace, this then inexplicably sometimes leads to the coffee beans and light-flashing.

People that accelerate as you overtake them on the Motorway.

Cruise on 75, gain, gain, move out, parallel, and then they accelerate? Slot in behind them and they slow down again!?

People who in stop/start traffic decide it's the ideal time to play on their phone and pay no attention to the road - totally unaware of the massive gap that's now opened up in front of them from traffic that's moving again!

Drivers who pull up to a junction very quickly expecting drivers who have right of way to just stop and let them out. Give your passengers a better ride and slowly pull up to the junction.

Probably already been covered tongue out

People who use the left-hand lane to go all the way around roundabouts, thus blocking the exit for those who use them properly. Every day I use a roundabout with two lanes on the approach, and two exits - nine o clock and three o clock, and the number of people who use the left hand approach to go right is increasing all the time...
Depends on the road markings - on many roundabouts they are in the correct lane and your not...

I swear I see this all the time on my commute and 90% of the time it is women.
Yep, same here.

People who HAVE to sit in the right hand lane, presumably becuase in their fked up little world it's the 'fast lane' even on a 30mph road - then turn left mad

Drivers that:-
1. Bip their horns when sat behind you whilst you stay outside of a yellow box junction waiting for the exit to clear.....i almost wish i could drive back round behind them and bip my horn at them....
2. Those who see you approach whilst they have to pull out of a T junction because their house is seemingly on fire but then once ahead of you they drop speed to sauntering "i dont give a damn now im in front you" pace. Thought you was in a mad rush earlier????
3. Frustrated drivers who are intent on getting past you but due to traffic conditions just seem to be thwarted at every opportunity then as you approach some lights two lanes your inner lane is free and the outer lane is rammed they have to punch in so that at the lights you dont waft past them on the inside lane whilst theyre stuck at the back of the queue.
4. That do not adjust their speed up or down to match and fit in with whats already on the main road especially in road works 50 limits.
5. Lads who get up onto your back bumper then drop back 50 metres then speed up to your bumper again....then drop back.....fk the hell off impatient tt.
6.drive with the seat fully reclined, one finger on the steering wheel, leaning to one side in an over exxaggerated look at me arent i the bks rehearsed pose.again.....get the fk outta here!
7. Middle aged white guys who wear lots of gold rings again seat right back with thumb of right hand under the top of the wheel whilst the 4 fingers extend over the top of the wheel either patting or strumming the top of the dashboard to some tune on the stereo.....you look a knob mate.
8. That cant go anywhere but see you pull across their path turning right out of a T junction but to make turn trickier they drive virtually up flush to your car door. Wtf is that for knob end! You aint going anywhere...

Don't get me started on people who move their car over to block safe slow filtering on motorbikes in heavy traffic. Often tempted to accidentally clip their wing mirror off...
Bikers generally don't have much if any effect, if any on traffic flow (unless of course they have been knocked off the bike and traffic is halted) so I tend to move over to let them get through whenever there is enough room to do so. especially when the weather is bad. and I am sitting in a nice dry warm car, and they are having to deal with the unpleasant weather directly. People who block bikers either through failure to use their mirrors, or even in some cases deliberately, are not very high up the food chain.

People who ignore the road markings e.g. left turn only lane at a roundabout, then push in at the front forcing those who used the correct lanes to stop.
Almost daily I find that people think the right hand lane is for going straight on and right and im wrong for using the left hand lane for going straight.

smash
Have another smash

In general, poor lane discipline, but especially at fking roundabouts! furiousfuriousshoot

As some here will know, my idea of worst driving behaviour is failing to give a signal, when there are other road users around, including pedestrians who could benefit from it. I mean, moving a finger an inch to press an indicator lever, How hard can it be?

People who sit with their foot on the foot brake in queues of traffic, especially in cars with LED brake lights. Obviously not the worst driving habit, but so completely unnecessary and utterly thoughtless and/or selfish.
This is one that really gets me! Using an MX5 I often get blinded by the new-gen LED rear lights, especially on the big 4x4's like the Disco4/X5 etc, it's absolutely painful to sit behind them...
I don't understand the problem with this? I do it all the time myself when driving autos. Putting it into park or neutral every time I come to a halt is a massive faff, not how the vehicle is designed to be used and clunky.

Also, if I jab my brakes in traffic it'll hold them on for me, taking a little bit of stress away from the fact I'm stuck in traffic. I even have a function that means the only pedal you need to use in stop/start traffic is the accelerator, it brakes for me when I come off the throttle. I use both these functions frequently and they would both probably piss you off.

2 things - the fact that you don't appreciate to drive an auto you really need to keep your foot on the brake unless its obvious that you'll be there for a decent time - that's thoughtless.
And the fact you find it painful to sit behind brake lights, you probably have a problem. If you can't deal with it because you're sat in a low car well that's your problem, your choice - it goes with the territory...its selfish to expect everyone to change their habits because of your choice.

In 10 years of driving all-sorts, including sports cars - its never once bothered me.

People who:

  • Use their phone whilst driving (texting or talking)
  • Drift across the center line through a bend
  • Tailgate
  • are impatient
  • drive 'fast' (within speed limits) in a straight line, but then slow right down for the easiest bend
  • sit with their foot on the brake at traffic lights or in a long queue of traffic
I think that's enough lol.

Texting while driving, especially in traffic allowing queuing traffic to get 200 yds in front of em before finishing their text message.
Fog lights
Merge in turn queuers 2 miles in lane that's not closing
Bikers filtering at 80mph make sure you've filled out your donor card

To name but a few.

I noticed the auto-hold setting on the golf, when stopped at traffic lights is supposed to put the handbrake on, but it sits there holding the brakes on, with the brakes lights on the whole time. Driving at night now I turn it off and have to fumble about with the silly switch. Wish it had a basic hill holder like my impreza.
Auto-hold doesn't use the hand brake, it keep the car stationary by applying the foot brake for you.

I think VW have it right. I prefer having my brake lights lit up when I'm at the back of a queue so I'm more visible.

If you want to turn the brake lights off while stationary then you don't need to switch off auto-hold. Instead just pull up the handbrake ie. electronic parking brake switch.

You're at the back of a queue of traffic, all with lights on as it's night time & you prefer your brake lights on so you're more visible?!

I appreciate that driving an auto it's easier to sit on the brakes, still bloody annoying for SOME of us behind though.

Seems to be those in quite low cars, which goes with the territory.

People who abuse lane rules at junctions / traffic lights and cut in at the last minute. For example, at traffic lights, queue of traffic in the left-hand lane to go straight on someone tears up the right-hand that is a right turn only lane and cuts in at the last minute. Infuriating and rude!

Littering, full stop. Whether it be cigarettes, chewing gum or rubbish - it not excusable!

Is a Clio quite a low car? Or a Focus?
