Note to self: work harder
Or just lower your aversion to monthly car payments, like many on these forums do to own the cars they do. It's not all as it seems in some cases so I wouldn't worry about it.
This could be very true, after all many PHers are powerfully built Directors and the fabulous cars likely to be Company cars.

It's probably quite unlikely that anyone puts down £70k for a new M5 for example. It makes much more financial sense to lease or PCP it and pay only the/less than the depreciation on the car in that time and then let it go.

That is a good point

My car was a grand, paid in cash, which to me is a fair bit of money

I wouldn't swap my car for anything else in the price bracket

47 (last week!)

Subaru BRZ

I suspect a lot of GT86/BRZ owners are older, as I think it helps to have owned and driven plenty of cars to "get" the GT86/BRZ.

54, Pharmaceuticals Management. 2001 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Volante, 6.0L V12. Sneered at by other Astons, but I love it. Sports exhaust howls like a banshee. Completely impractical (no cup holder, no glove box, no spare), but it makes me smile.

A creaky and cynical 62- except when I am in my R400 Seven on a dawn run to Cadwell when I feel about 14. But when I drive my daily Yeti 4x4 I get unaccountable urges to visit bloody garden centres ....
