RE: Shed Of The Week: Mitsuoka Viewt
Discussion
Anyone who has posted on this thread regarding the pointlessness or bad choice of a shed, or worse yet, questioning someone's love of cars if they appreciate this utter masterpiece; I genuinely hope I never meet you in real life or else I will go to the woods, chop down a tree and build myself a coffin in an effort to rid myself of the terminal and overwhelming boredom that would wash over me.
Best SOTW yet. Would be worth buying just to dump in a Jag dealership showroom and watch what happens. Or better yet, sneak into Goodwood FOS and stick it on the auction green.

Loving how Shed has polarised opinion as much as ever.
I personally would own it in a heartbeat. I do afew thousand miles a year, my commute is a 5-10 minute ratrun. Common sense would dictate I own a DD like an old Micra, yet I steadfastly refuse to do so.
Something like this makes the prospect of a Jap biscuit tin far more appealing. It's daft and eccentric, a great little talking point. It could be weighed in if it needs more than afew quid spent on it without any heartache whatsoever.
At sub £1K it almost makes sense. The cheapest Ebay example at £3K+ doesn't.
I don't care that some people will view it as a poor-taste, badly-executed pastiche of an old Jag. Surely any sensible person will see that the owner is driving this is a tounge-in-cheek sort of way rather than trying to convince anyone with 2 eyes that its an old Jag.
I would personally assume that the owner of one of these has a healthy sense of humour, and is likely a charming, self-depreciating individual. If you don't 'get it', maybe your a bit square?
Edit: Wheels are as ill-suited as an ill-suited thing. Easily fixed, you might even end up afew quid better off.

I can never understand why so many people bother to take the time to post about the article they have clearly just read bemoaning how it in some way has wasted a small part of their lives. When I trawl through the various car websites I can determine within the first few seconds which articles I am going to read and which I am not just by the picture or headline. You know full well that the majority of people bhing knew as soon as they saw the picture that they weren't going to like the car yet they have still read the article and wasted their own time posting about it. The words "grow" and "up" spring to mind!
Take away the wheels and return them to something more classically styled and I can see this as being the perfect run about for those who would like the idea of something very old school but have neither the funds/interest to run and maintain the real thing which undoubtedly would cost a whole heap more. It looks like it could have plenty of that little thing that we like to use to describe anything that makes us smile but in actual fact is a little bit ste. Character. And there's nothing wrong with that

It's called a forum, people post their views on something, not that hard to understand, people have different views, I always wondered who watched programmes like Last of the summer wine but then tastes vary. gigglebug said:

Fake character that is less than skin deep, a bit like Astroturf, yes it looks a bit like grass and costs nothing to maintain but it lacks many of the the other qualities of the real thing.

Secondly have you experienced one of these cars to know that it has no or what you describe as fake character?? I personally haven't but at least it doesn't look like it's taking itself too seriously and a friend had an old beat up Micra as a first car and we had plenty of cheap fun in that.
And lastly there are plenty of situations where Astroturf is a far better solution than maintaining real grass (my sports and social club are in the middle of having a 4G pitch laid so that football and hockey training can carry on in the winter months regardless without ending up with a cut up mess) so I don't even see the point of that analogy either??
But thanks for your input on anyway

Why bother reading my post when it is clear you've set your mind to disagree with everything in it anyway? Your insincere thanks weren't wanted either. I've been reading shed of the week for years now and commenting on the cars, mainly because I often have enjoyed the cars reviewed and the discussion afterwards. Now self righteous morons like yourself want to take exception to anything negative posted about a car I can see this becoming a narrow minded lacuna of the internet full of braying sheeple.joemaxi said:
Found this article on these Micra offerings,
http://mjs.home.xs4all.nl/March.html
"In 1996 came the Mook The Tokyo Princess, another VandenPlas lookalike, also available as a Wagon."http://mjs.home.xs4all.nl/March.html
Makes the Mazda Bongo sound almost sensible.
"So what are you driving these days mate?"
"Actually I've got a new Mook the Tokyo Princess"
"WTF?"
There seem to be a few of these available as well:
