Sorry, mis read that. Either way the point remains the same.

If you have shed loads of cash you have to spend it on something and to the people who buy this the cost will be a drop in the ocean.

But saying 'why buy this when X costs 1/100 of the price is like saying why buy a Rolex when a £10 Casio does the same job.

I hate the cheese grater on the front. Not sure where Bentley are going lately...
The 'Cheese grater' has been around since the 1920's & reappeared on the 'eight' in the 80's!!

Classic 3 litre, lovely.

Red Label, lovely.

Car crime.

I can't see much difference between the latter two, described as 'lovely' and 'criminal' by you - they're both diagonal crossing grills; the top photo has a vertical/horizontal mesh. If anything I would assume if you're going by differences, you'd like the first one but hate both the last two.

I think it is pretty obvious that the latest Bentley is probably not meant to appeal to me. The latest version obviously needs a massive amount of cooling hence the reason that so much of the front end is vented. IMO it would look a great deal less of a footballers special edition if the lower mesh was deleted and filled with something less obvious. After the GT I think they have gone backwards from a purely aesthetic point of view. The brand will always be safe, which I guess is all that matters to some.

To me, the grill on the GT pictured above looks far less out of place than that on the Red Label (which looks stupid). The 3 Litre is lovely.

The more recent two would both look better with the grills painted black but I'm sure they'd do that for you if you asked nicely.

I can see the difference but IMO The latter grilles in your pictures are an evolution of the original. Personally I preferred the incarnation on the Eight to the thing on the Arnage, a strange 3D honeycombed affair. My father specified a 'Grater' with body coloured surround on his Mulsanne 'S' instead of the chrome & slats affair. Was very impressed when it turned out to be a 1990 MY with, of all things twin headlights, a rev counter & sports seats front & rear instead of bench style!

Im not disputing the fact the grille on this thing is somewhat loud but I suppose it's all to do with a 'Family face'. Also wonder if Bentley are no longer allowed to use the 'Slats' due to copyright by Rolls Royce or some such.

Why buy this, when a classic E30 cabriolet is likely just a few percent of the cost of this.........Thing.

........Yes, but the two cars are broadly comparable. The two watches are in completely different classes. Only IMO of course.

Agreed, it's becoming a bit of a miscue...
